This is fucking stupid.

Not that that guy isn't retarded, but he does have one small point
>SKS being used as a "sniper" rifle
7.62mm has terrible fucking ballistics past 400m and you don't need a scope like that for it. That being said this is a terribly autistic nitpicky point for a fantastic movie.
>>
>>31412613
It's your gun, do what makes you feel good, just not anything that anti-funs can use,
>>
>>31412735
Also I forgot to say OP, just buy an already fucked up one and use that. Cheaper that way too.
>>
I feel like a situation such as the end times would warrant putting a scope similar to Furiousa's on a SKS, because there may not be any better options around.

But today it would just be silly.
>>
>>31412684

Dude they're fighting over water I doubt they could just stroll into a gun store and discuss ballistics

>7.62mm has terrible fucking ballistics past 400m and you don't need a scope like that for it.
Actually past 400m I'd argue you *do* need a scope like that, something with high magnification would pretty much be necessary to lob, not shoot, 7.62 FMJ with any degree of accuracy.

Plus higher-end gigantor scopes have a pretty wide range of adjustment which is obviously a good thing to have in this situation.

A completely different 7.62mm than the SKS.

probably not, he put alot of projects on hold while they finish the shop/store. Which i think its silly he decided to open in California.
>>
>>31412684
Correct, because a gun can't be a sniper. There was a variant of the sks used as a sniper or DMs weapon, but having a magnified optic doesn't mean a person is trying to shoot 1000 yards you fucking fag
>>
>>31412906
Plenty if you watch the weapon handling

>>31413957
Ever see what the cz527 can do though?

>>31414529
California is still a massive market. Sure it'll mostly be transfers and shit but he's still living the dream. It's not all macsaws either. Sluthammer may be a joke, but the crew obviously has ability
>>
>>31414341
General opinion is always right! Movie was garbage, nothing beyond the visuals were decent. Even those were shit half the time. Fucking night scenes are shot in the day with an instagram filter thrown on. Movie begins with fucking voice over exposition, what a joke.
>>
>>31414617
>Ever see what the cz527 can do though?
... No? I don't know why you're bringing that up since we're talking about semi-autos for one and for two we're talking about the 7.62x39mm versus 7.62x54mmR. Oh, and bonus third point the CZ 527 comes in .223 Remington so I'm not even sure why you would deliberately handicap yourself like that.

I just don't understand what you're getting at.
>>
>>31414956
Is that all that's wrong with it?
>>
>>31414956
>has critical and public acclaim

Yeah sure.
>>
>>31414956
>Movie starts with a voiceover and that's bad

Have you ever watched an original Mad Max movie before?
>>
>>31415044
No. There is only one character that goes through any sort of development whatsoever. Character motivations are poorly explained/no present at all. No effort is made to connect/ make the audience sympathetic with a character. Max seems like he's just along for the ride yet has to do everything. Max's redemption?? arch not nearly fleshed out or explained adequately. I'm sure there's more but it's been over a year since I've seen it.

>>31415093
not an argument
>>
>>31415232
You did really poorly in english class when it came to literary analysis, didn't you?
>>
>>31415232
Max has always been "Along for the ride" except for the First movie. In Road Warrior and Beyond the Thunderdome he was assisting others. His story wasn't the focal point, his contribution to OTHERS' stories were the focal points.

>>31415250
Does it matter to the purposes of this discussion? No.

It's difficult to distinguish legitimate mental impairment with faux mental impairment. In either case, he's still retarded.
>>
>>31415289
Not an argument

>>31415301
So in 33% of movies he's not along for the ride? That doesn't sound like always.

>>31415329
Not baiting, if you think Mad Max is an above average movie without citing "practical effects" as a positive you're wrong. Using practical effects is a way to NOT fuck up a movie entirely. It takes more than that to make a decent movie.
>>
>>31415411
Still waiting for your argument.

related question, is there any way to propery mount optics to the sks? What would arguably be the MOST proper way to do so? Drill and tap with real russian optics?

He's just saying the CZ will be able to lob the x39 more accurately than an SKS.

Obviously this has no effect on the range or a good excuse to put a fuckhuge scope on it. But don't be dense it was pretty obvious what he was talking about.
>>
>>31417259
>But don't be dense it was pretty obvious what he was talking about.
I like how you say "don't be dense" in spite of it being clear that I do know what he's talking about. I'm asking why the hell he's bringing up the price of tea in China.

I want to buy a Type 53 barreled action like this, buy a monte carlo stock, and make it fit the stock with the bayo attached (file down part of the stock on the bayo side) and make it into my truck gun. I figure it's ok to do since its a type 53 and it's mismatched parts.
>>
>>31417378
I see no problem as long as it doesn't have a stock in the first place.

my buddy and I bought a Romanian mosin carbine that was rusted and the stock was cracked and rotting. it looked like it had spent 40 years in uncle dragovic's basement. so we refinished it and carved a new mohagany stock for it since hes a woodworker.
>>
>>31412613

Additional handguard attached underneath is literally just to accommodate robot hand. It would be VERY awkward and a poor grip for you.

This is actually a good way to make money and improve your gunsmithing skills if you can find them cheap enough and come out with something worth buying.

You won't be able to make it your day job though, not without some serious, serious dedication and skill.
