ITT: We post funs and fun accessories that we're thinking of buying and the rest of /k/ calls us a faggot for even considering it.

I want to use this with a Smart Carry holster or winter time carry as my first full sized handgun (have a p238 for regular pocket carry). I picked up and tried the FNS 9c but the magazine release wasn't that operative. You have to move the position of your hand in order to grip the mag release just right to make it fall. Whereas the full sized FNS didn't really feel that big to me, felt like a glove in my hand, works with my small hands, and I'm confident I can make it fit on me in some way.

Talk me out of it, /k/.

>Magazines are 40 bucks a pop.

>Tiny aftermarket because FN doesnt really give a fuck about civilian sales.

>Low replacement part availability. What if something breaks? How many stores have FNS replacement parts readily available?

>M&P line is around the same price and remedies all problems above except mag cost

I've heard good things about it and I wouldnt mind owning one though.

But it's just so fucking sexy.
>>
I put $100 down on a Colt AR15A4 earlier this year and unsurprisingly, they haven't gotten any in stock. Nobody does and the occasional times they show up on gun broker they go for about $500 more than MSRP

Do I wait it out, or have them cancel and take my down payment to another gun they have in stock? They had a Mossberg MVP that looked pretty cool to me, had a nice piece of glass on it and three 10 round mags and a 20 rounder.

For what it's worth, I also bought a Knight's Armament M5 rail preemptively for the AR15A4
>>
Talk me out of buying a new plate carrier or battle belt. The contenders for plate carriers are the Mayflower APC. Or the Banshee. In ranger green. Contenders for battle belts are the hsgi slim grip or the Tactical Tailor fight light. I can't decide.

>>31389964
I tried the M&P trigger at the gun store and it was as squishy as everyone said it is. I agree that it fits the hands well but the first thing I would need to do is install an Apex trigger which would cost an additional $100 as well as kill the lifetime warranty. As well as this:

http://www.gunbroker.com/item/585453486

The FNS is the better gun out of the box but I hear a lot that the M&P with an Apex trigger is the best handgun out there.

>>
>>31389142
They are decent but of IWB carry you need a holster that protects the fucking retarded ambidextrous mag release. I bought one a while ago and carried it IWB for about two months before all my undershirts were shredded from the abrasive grip texture (which is easily solved with a Talon grip) and every time I sat down in a car the mag would pop out. At the time there were like 2 kydex holsters for that, maybe there are more now, but I've retired my FNS9 as a cc gun.
Its great as a range toy or OWB open carry though.
>>
>>31389979

>>

>>
>>31389939
I almost bought one but honestly the M&P shield is better, but that is still a great gun. I wouldn't get the green frame, but thats just me.
>>
>>31390168
If it were me I'd go with the C96.
The CZ Evo is new and will most likely drop in price once they start to become more abundant, C96's are antiques and will never be cheaper than now.
If it were me I'd buy the C96 now and start saving and watching the prices of the Evo.
>>
>>31390133
Your going to give 800 bucks for a KAC lower with no trigger group? There can be no cure for your autism
>>
>>31390277
checked. how is the shield better? also the actual green looks more OD than photo.

there's an FDE PPS NIB near me for $440, but I'm holding out to see what's at the local gun show this weekend.
>>
>>31390386
FDE PPS which is an RSR limited run. Same price in the shop as what I'm finding online for the standard black finish.
>>
>>31390386
The shield is:
>cheaper
>slightly smaller
>holds +1 round in the mag
I believe mags are cheaper too.
That said I like the PPS's trigger and mag release more and the PPS comes with a rail, which I don't have much use for on a pistol that size. If you haven't held them side by side you definitely should, the shield feels slightly better to me, but a lot of people find the grips to be slick.
>>
What C96 should I buy?
I doubt I'll get the Artillery that is up for sale;

The others are a few prewar, a few red 9 and a few bolo
>>
>>31390403
Fde would look better with black slide.

Get it in 9mm. I love my pps but the forty is snappy.
>>
>>31389142
I got one. Very large to carry, slide didn't sit flush to receiver, and I realized I wasn't a fan of a trigger safety.

>>
Zastava m70a +1 magazine for $325 CAD
>>
>>31390423
it is cheaper. I did find the grip to be slick when I held one. as for the size, the PPS gets close enough for a single stack, while being large enough for enjoyable range use...at least that's what it felt like when I held it today.
>>31390443
what do you think is beneath the FDE cerakote on the slide? how hard would it be to make the slide black?
>>
>>31390514
>how hard would it be to make the slide black?
Really fucking hard.
>>
>>31390265
That's what I guessed. I really want that rifle, I know I can build it but I really am a sucker for "proper" factory rifles like that.

Fuck I guess I just need to keep being patient. I should probably call the store and ask them if they've heard any news
>>
>>31390485
>325 CAD
Not a bad deal at all, Zastava isn't known for super high quality but what do you expect for that price.
>>
>>31390514
Hopefully a black slide. But I don't know.
>>
>>31390471
Isn't the sp2022 5 oz heavier than the FNS?
>>
>>31390146
I've put 100 rounds through the 9 and barely noticed any play in the trigger. It might have been really well broken in but it was a solid handgun and had minimal uptake. There are fixes for "gritty" triggers that don't require a trigger kit. I'd take a FNS over it still.

Expensive mags and little aftermarket support.

It's pros: simple and fast takedown, optional frame mounted, unobtrusive safety, full ambi, great night sights, changeable backstrap, rail for light/laser, positive grip pyramids(too heavy to call checkering, cheaper than equivalent glock, nice trigger, comes with 3 mags already, golden bull's-eye award 2013.

Where was this thread when I bought my USP 9mm a couple months ago?
It's a great gun, don't get me wrong, and I feel like solid snake in mgs2 but...

>$45-55 standard mags
>$60-70 jet funnel 18rd mags
>essentially every aftermarket part is more expensive than it needs to be
>proprietary rail

Pic related- not my USP, but this is what nearly $1200 worth of hk mags looks like...

Some rich mcrichertons collector traded in a ton of HK's at my lgs. Half of them looked unfired, as was the case with my USP. 2013 production, not a single scratch or blemish. Walked out with it and a few boxes of lol9mm for almost $700 on the dot.

No regrets.

Yeah not for 3k, everyone wants a pre-B but unless you're a serious collector the Rally Meme isn't worth it. It's not 5x better than a modern CZ.
>>31395855
It's a tough spot. I'd take it because it's a deal in hand, under 3k is a good price right now. The risk is that they might import another batch and they'll go down to 2.5k or so. Then again that's not a huge difference and it's offset by the risk of them either never returning to the Us market at all and becoming 5-figure unicorns or coming back for more than they cost now.

And they ARE amazing rifles.

>>
>>31395921
I haven't really examined it closely, but IIRC every civilian SCAR sold was made in Belgium and imported via fucktarded 922R compliant methods and then modified stateside with Us made parts.

This adds to the cost and is double-retarded because the American factory mass-produces them for the various military contracts so they could just as easily crank out 100% US made guns without this rigamaroll.

I'm guessing the Belgian imports are more or less a stopgap measure to put them on the market while the US factory is at capacity dealing with government contracts. If that's true it might mean one or two more batches while the US factory catches up and then SCARs will get a lot cheaper but at least the original Belgian imports will retain some collector's interests because there aren't that many and it's something different. God knows what the pricing would be.

Of course wild card is the election. All prices will go up temporarily and if Hillary wins both the SCAR 16 and 17 have a definite spot on any ban by name list of the inevitable permanent AW bill she'll ram down the pipes in the next 4 years.
No more imports, no more factory fresh guns, FN would probably go all HK on us and not even bother with civilian sales anymore (they seem to be headed that direction already due to overwhelming priority on government contracts).

Convince me not too buy something fancy like pic related.
I know $400 will get me a rifle that can do everything just as well but wheres the fun in that?

Yep. But it's actually a little smaller in the grip and slide, and about the same width.

I saw a H&K USP Compact .45 stainless on gunbroker today with a bid of just over $500. God, it's tempting. Should I go for it?

this Traditions SAA clone. I've been on the fence between it, a SxS, a traditions muzzleloader kit, and a winchester 1897
>>31400748
get it, i don't like stainless, but my black finish shoots like a dream even if it's compact. only problems
>single stack
>8-10 rds (can fit HK45C mags)
>a humongous "compact"
>HK expensive accessories

I want one as well.

$599 here, I haven't seen it that cheap anywhere else. I also require talking out of.

pic related. MAC keeps raving about the ones he got from classic firearms.
cases for mak:
>affordable- $320ish from CF
>i already shoot 9x18mak (although im in short supply of it)
>ive wanted one for a while
cons
>$300 gun
its cheap but im saving for different toys right now and $300, while small, would take a bite out of that. plus i have lots of cheap guns already, another one might not be a good idea
>>
>>31401097
The x6's are race guns. Do you want a race gun?
>>
>>31401734
I take it you have a CZ82? If so, while I love my Mak, spend it on something else. CZ is just a double stack Mak from what I can tell, and while I don't think it has the same feel/look as a Mak-daddy, I think you'll end up regretting your purchase. It's not a bad CCW gun though.

Trigger preference.

yep, cz82. you know what? you convinced me not to. seriously.
its just one of those things ive wanted but never wanted badly enough to get.

I think it only says ruger on it 4 or 5 times, they're probably disappointed they couldn't slap it on anywhere else

inb4 fudd logic "a semi auto will never be as accurate as a bolt action"

I'm going to be honest that link is insanely fishy. he claims it's American made "making them good" when npap's are made at the zastava armory in Serbia. he also claims they have stamped receivers when they are milled receiver guns. this dude may be taking a couple npap parts and making a cheap garbage teir garage gun made from parts and calling it npap.
