>>
>>31386439
Real world tests rarely are scientific. That's what makes them real world.

The gun couldn't handle being dunked in water. Not mud, not sand. not dirt, but pure clean drinking water caused the gun to fail on the first shot and then completely fail on the second round of tests.
>>
>>31386025
>Glock reigns supreme.
More like Arex reigns supreme.

>>31386439
If any of these tests he does have any scientific consistency, it's the water test

"Leave it in the water until the bubbles stop" for each pistol. M&P is the only one that failed.
>>
i have an M&P 9 with the apex trigger (the whole kit).
>unscientific test
>sample size of one
>aftermarket trigger
its hard for owners of any gun to admit its faults because theyre emotionally and financially attached. but when the results are this glaring, its hard to just explain it away. i can say truthfully, as an owner, its embarrassing.

even before this test, i found myself liking it less and less every time i shot, with the shit trigger and the inaccurate barrel. its also quite bland to shoot. overall, i wouldnt say it was a waste of money but i should have just gone with a glock 19. this test is really just the exclamation point on my feelings about the m&p.
im going to try dunking it in water, just because im curious now.

i forgot, i mentioned those things because the gun should work despite these issues. and it didnt. not only did it under perform, it choked on a bag of dicks.

>>
>>31386614
I don't think the barrels are really inaccurate, it's just the trigger is kinda odd and it makes it difficult to shoot without practicing a lot, or if you're used to another gun. I was kinda upset the first time I shot mine (Leo trade-in one) thinking it was basically a shotgun, but then I went back and tried it out again and it was a fucking laser. The trigger pull on it just takes some getting used to, at least with the factory one. I haven't tried the apex trigger.

As far as this test goes I'm kinda tempted to duplicate it because it seems odd just water could fuck up a pistol like that.

>>31386468
In that assumption you would be a bit off.

What makes test scientific is repeatability. It means (to put it very short) that all the conditions are documented and then repeated according to documentation.

No test is absolute of course, but you have to start from somewhere. And then you repeat and repeat and repeat it until you gain that insight whether anything you do corresponds to reality at acceptable level.

You want to also get results quick, which btw is often the achilles heel of very many testing protocols regarding their connection with the real world testing.

MAC indeed has a sane test series going on. He repeats the series in a similar manner on each particular firearm. I can't see any major deviations from his testing protocol.

If you do this shit enough even your favorite king of reliability is going to break. That's how machines are.

anyway, a 'direct impingement' AR will not explode after being submerged in water unless you dont give it any time for some water to leak out the gas tube. If the gas tube is clear, it'll most likely work just fine like in any other video you can look up of ARs being fired after being dunked in water.

The glock striker is pretty much the same strength spring so the only thing I could see being different is the striker channel not filling with water for the glock.... Let me fix that sentence.
The AREX reigns supreme.
Trade in all your Glocks and buy ARex's.

Theyre cool in their own right. Minimulist. Clean and reliable.
"Ugly and all business looking".
I like SDA triggers and prefer no safety as well. I dont like striker or that cheesy trigger safety thing.

I could write a thesis on why buying pistols should be based off 90% aethetics. All triggers and styles function differently and you have to train on any trigger. And 10% is if you want a safety or not. But reliability and such is pretty great across the board on all major firearms.

>sample size of one

His testing methods are easily reproducible. If you want a greater sample size, feel free to run the test yourself. Whether MAC is the one doing the test or not is irrelevant.

HiPoint test when?

Actually in, the Original Half life, the Glock 17, crossbow and crowbar were the only weapons to work under water...

Of course the spas-12 was also a double barreled ahotgun...but hey it was the 90's and you can't win everything.

Due to their size, capacity, and weight they make a lot of sense for carrying.
