/k/ Plans a Spook Hunt

go out in the woods with a virgin and slam a red hot iron through their leg into the ground then cover them with ground up placentas, cut a pentagram into their chest, then sit in a blind and wait

Ten to fifteen armed, fit individuals with decent recording technology, sound equipment and knowledge of lore to investigate areas with multiple alleged sightings or at least very specific areas. Those individuals need to be at least skilled in some form of survival for the terrain theyre going into or have skills that will be useful in any terrain. Pick a spook, find a place where you can find spook, then move into the woods to find the spook. Must stay out for a week at a time or long enough to thoroughly investigate an area.

Alternatively, go out in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, preferably to a place thats had several sightings or rumors. Bring some some buddies who are shiggy with the idea, bring a good armament, and just dick around in the woods. Or go full operational operator til you find it. Your choice.

Basically go pull the tree out of the way, try to exterminate those things. Have the drivers stay with the trucks

we're going to need good comms too. everyone immediately informed when plans change or new enemies are found.

in the case of the picture we're talking about at the very least, vertebrates with a central nervous system.

meaning that a bullet to the brain will effectively down one of them. we also know that they, at the very least, are effected by pain. whether or not they become incapacitated after a modest amount of ammunition is yet to be seen.

still on anatomy and living places, they are said to have large claws. this can be both for hunting or digging if they've made their homes in the mines. it wouldn't be outlandish to think that they might have other tunnel systems encircling the area, meaning that they may know we are coming before we find them.

we also have to look out for the trees, if these creatures are mildly intelligent they might try to trap us with other fallen trees. with claws that can dig through earth, they can definitely cause some major road hazards.

ive also found a satellite image of where I believe the story is taken place. its near the right geological location but from the grainy satellite images its not clear if there is a cabin or cave entrance there. the cords: 40.603573N 114.641936W . there is also a similar location on the same road about a mile east of this location.

realistically if we can kill and contain two of them, killing one through bodily injury and one through brain injury, we should be able to do adequate research on their full anatomy and what family of animal they are in.

killing them may not be an easy feat. they are extremely fit and powerful, especially if they use tunneling in cave systems as shelter. I wouldn't go with anything smaller than 7.62 and even that might not do much without a ludicrous amount of ammunition. we'd better use big game rounds like 30-06, 300 Win Mag and the like. judicious marksmanship would be appreciated.
