So...any gun? And what is the junk metal for?

Why would you only have access to animal grease and Sun flower oil for 60 years? Do you intend to have literally no mechanical devices around you? Everything will moving metal parts requires lubrication and good fucking luck keeping an engine running with bear fat. How could you have enough ammo to last 60 years without any other mechanical devices either? You can lug 100,000 rounds with you but no fucking generator?

How are you planning to fix a gun with junk metal either? Do you think you'll just be jamming bits of a broken teapot into where your broken extractor was? You'll need metal working equipment and the knowledge to use it.

A stainless steel single action revolver would likely handle decades of use and exposure to the elements.

you're gonna regret not oiling that thing around 2000 rounds or so

>>31372740
Why?

you'll wear it down faster mainly, I mean you don't have to but if you haven't oiled or lubed that rifle up past 2000 rounds you'll be seeing wear you really shouldn't seeing until more than twice that. At least in my experiences anyways, it takes like a minute or lube it up right dude, it's worth the time.

>>31372228
You mean real life isn't like vidyagaems where I can just consume 5x spare metal to make my rifle like new?
>>
>>31372148

Any high quality gun will work that long at low volume of fire.
If you're going to shoot IPSC weekly, that's not going to work though.

As for spare parts? Why not just buy a bunch of extractors & various springs ahead of time?

Biggest problem would likely be ammo tbfh. I guess you could make black powder, but that's not very helpful in modern guns.

never ever lubed our rifles in the Finnish Military. The "oiling" was literally only done to get shit out of the barrel when cleaning them, or to preserve the guns when giving them back to storage.

We always shot our guns dry. Sometimes 2 weeks in a row, innawoods.

Ah. Well, I've seen plenty of dry aks that wear out faster, I mean you could say its inconsequential unless you shoot as often as I do.

lubing =/= oiling. Pushing an oiled cleaning brush through the barrel, followed by a thick ball of cotton ball, really ain't my idea of lubing anything. The action we mainly cleaned with rags

And lemme remind you that most of these guns still used by FDF are made before 1990s; plenty of late 60s rifles in the mix.

Nah son valmets are great if you can find one. I wouldn't recommend grunt logic though, you better lube that rifle up.
