A few days ago, I managed to get a Marlin Model 60 for a steal.
I just now am able to break it down and give it the first cleaning it's probably seen in years. A small bit of rust and some fair build up.
Most of the rust is located right between the barrel and tube mag. I, for the life of me, can not seem to remove the tube mag. Am I simply missing something? I am not seeing any pins or anything that would keep it from sliding out.
I'll get a few more pics up of it.

Knock out the pin on the barrel band at the front of the rifle.

Why buy an old neglected .22lr? I mean how much do new 10/22's cost? How much was the steal?

I just now noticed that as I was taking the third pic. I feel stupid now. Tanks, though.

I only dropped $60 on it. A little TLC, and she'll be shining again.

Bruh, Marlin 60s are like dirt cheap. I've bought new for 160 and used for 70. Glenfields are even cheaper.
Plus it a good rifle and let's antifun states have over 10 rounds cuz tube magazine

A marlin 60 is better in every way than a ruger 10/22 except for customization.
Don't take it out unless it's bent or dented. You can clean it while it's on. They're a pain to remove.
New or older action? I don't see a LSHO lever so it may have the two piece feed ramp. If not and it has the newer action pic related is the only adjustment tool you will need.
Marlins can be had cheap cause funds unload them when they start jamming. A little cleaning and adjusting usually fixes them right up. I never pass on an old Marlin and I've always been able to fix them.

Broken buffers, missing e-clips misadjusted ejector are the majority of the issues.
