so /k/, I've decided to quit my job. I was working around a fancy new version of asbestos called refracted ceramic fiber, and the other day I was almost blinded by sodium hydroxide and needed to go to the ER and an ophthalmologist. No job is worth lung cancer and blindness, no matter how good the pay.
I've decided to veer from my scheduled classes and sign up for a class to become an EMT at the local community college. In the meantime, I'm going to go get my PERC security card.
What's the job like, working security? What's the job outlook on becoming an armored car guard? Security general?

Do you like trucks with rusty holes in them, bad brakes, poor ventilation and a company that doesn't care about you. Do you like when your employer tries to sneak money into your truck on purpose to see if you would steal it.
Armored Security is bad, you will get a bad back, you will inhale way too much exhaust, you will deal with shitbags eyeing you up and you will deal with absolute retards driving. Both your driver and the other drivers on the road.

Trucks dont look bad on the outside but it depends on the company, mine has a good branch mechanic same with most of my company but it varies

It wears off immediately. The fatter the stack the heavier the load and higher the risk. Coin and gold are even worse. You often deal with money when you're filling ATMs too.
Pic is money I put into an ATM. Sometimes you do this in a public area with all the money and it's just you by yourself. Imagine having all this out in a casino or a train station with dindus everywhere.

Regardless, ya ATMs suck, you could be putting the amount that would buy a house in some areas into an atm and have people all around you and over 100 yards from your truck. Not fun but fun at the same time.

Security is shit. It's boring, you'll deal with assholes who will be extra douchey because they know you have no real authority, the pay is bad, the benefits are piss poor and there's usually absolutely no union to speak of so your work conditions suck.
I did it while I was in college because I thought it would look good on a police resume. Protip: They don't give a fuck if you have security experience. So glad I don't have to deal with that shit ever again.
