My home defence weapon was a chainsaw. It's loud as shit and intimidating and if that doesn't do it try and cut them into pieces.

It spits oil all over your room and makes it stink like fuel tho, there will be a lot of blood to clean up and if you don't take it off your chainsaw it could rust.

Sometimes they're hard to start so make sure yours is reliable.

Knives are good if you want to kill your opponent.

You opponent will fight for his life and use everything he can get a hold of, including your knife.
Someone who gets cut goes full adrenaline and continues fighting, loosing blood constantly. Before you know, the guy collapses and is dead after 2 minutes.

That's why you take a blunt weapon with you.
The impact hurts like fucking hell and makes the muscles of the opponent feel numb. Give him one on the thigh and he won't be able to follow anymore.
He also won't go into adrenaline, if you don't smack his head or give him a beating on the ground. Smacking his head will also most likely make him unconscious or leave him confused.

I keep a big ass 6D flashlight behind the driver's seat of my truck, in case I ever get run off the road by some psycho or something. It's definitely heavy enough to cave somebody's head in and has significantly more reach than any knife. It's also really easy to explain to the cops why a flashlight in your truck is a good idea.

If I lived in the US I would just have guns everywhere, because guns are the best melee weapons.
