Any reason you got a bolt action instead of a semi .22lr?

You can get the same aesthetics with a 10/22 in a mannlicher stock.

Also looks beautiful with the 25 round magazine as well: http://static1.1.sqspcdn.com/static/f/850824/22327995/1364775379100/Ruger+1022.jpg?token=5SlQnaUavdcC1hQp8yKLM4D%2FJN0%3D

Here you go.
>>
>>31358316
Bolt actions promote better marksmanship. It's too easy to just spray the target if you miss with a semi auto

Love my stainless 10/22 Mannlicher.

Shit is accurate too.
>>
>>31358356

Fair point!
>>
Loving the mannlicher style stocks. My dad got a 10/22 and ivd been handed down his old squires and bingham model 20 haha
>>
>>31356818
With a stock like that, you are now legally obligated to lick a man.

Now go on ebay and buy one of YoDave's shim kits.

And a bunch of magazines.
>>
It seems to be just me but I really dislike Mannlicher stocks. I don't find them attractive and their bedding is very off putting to me.

>shim trigger kit
I have one on mine, the trigger is light as fuck and breaks cleanly with no take up; but there is an assload of over-travel. The thing is you use so little pressure that often you will just naturally stop right after the breaking point. It's weird and definitely not the best but you can get used to it and it gives good results.
>>
>>31360094
That's a beauty, I really like the profile of that varmint barrel. Did you have it threaded yourself?

I'm in the market for a 455 of some sort, so much so that I have 3 or 4 mags already. I like how they are a .22 but feel like a 'real' gun, if that makes any sense. I've just been really dissatisfied with the build quality of .22 rifles like the current production savages and rugers. I get the necessity of making rifles more cheaply due to competition, etc, but damn. For my money I want a nice feeling action, good finish and decent factory stock. At the price point of the CZs, there is no comparison in my opinion.
>>
>>31358316

10 22 is nice and all. I get a fucking hard on from working a bolt action.

There are options for that. Could tap a set screw into the trigger guard, use a magnet behind the trigger, music wire drilled into stock, or buy a Timney trigger.

>>31360440
No threading, it's a Thompson Machine Operative B CZ integrally suppressed barrel.

Pic related. My single shotj.c. higgins, model 41.

Says it can shoot 22 S, L and LR.

Very accurate. The trigger pull length is maybe 1/20 of an inch.
>>
>>31360491
I've been thinking about the set screw actually, but I've got a milled steel aftermarket trigger guard and I don't know if I want to drill it. I only have a shitty, old budget drill.

I could make a kind of wooden jig to hold everything in alignment and do it with my Dremmel I guess. I've never tapped a hole before though.

I wouldn't drill an aftermarket trigger housing, they're too expensive. Plus you have to back the screw out every time you need to remove the bolt.

Try a magnet in an aluminum block instead. Or the paperclip trick.

How that never occurred to me I don't know. I don't think that's the solution I want.

What is this? 2001?
>>
>>31359924
Ammo is not hard to find at all..least my neck of the woods. All the stores in town sell boxes all the time for 500. No limit, price is 20 after tax.
>>
>>31360491
Aww hell. That is nice.. I was going to get on the list to buy one but I'm more of a try before I buy kind of shooter, and those are hen's teeth. I'll have to stick with a muzzle can for now, should be about the same diameter as the varmint barrel though so that will look kinda slick I guess. Maybe buy the black one with the threaded varmint 16" barrel and switch the stock for a wood one.

That's a damn nice rifle, I love the barrel and the scope too. I don't know about the US but in the UK those mags are probably worth about what you'd pay for a new 452 or 455.
