This thread is not a war between the two but which do you personally like? And why do you prefer one over another?

***DISCLAIMER***

You can only post ITT if you actually shot both types.

***DISCLAIMER***

I like DA/SA more than striker. I feel like I can appreciate a good DA trigger pull more than a very crisp striker trigger. The added layer of a safety is a plus and I don't find the transition to be unpleasant or annoying, I have fun going from DA to SA when shooting my P226. I still carry a Shield despite all of this.

Taurus is a striker/ double action

>Taurus
it's also shaken action as well
>>
striker in a carry gun
da/sa or sa for range use

striker for carry since the triggers are good enough and theres no hammer/beavertail jabbing me in the side when i bend
da/sa for range use since i shoot them better
>>
definitely da/sa, they're more fun to shoot and in my experience they're more reliable

What kind of DA/SA guns do you both own?

DA/SA is better in my opinion. Ive currently own pic related. I used to have a glock 22.
>>
>>31353882
ive owned glocks,1911,berreta92,czsp01,sigma,sigp226,sp2022
the difference isnt as huge as people make it out to be if you can shoot 1 competently you should be able to shoot both competently. strikers just better for carry since it has less projecting bits and more hands off maintienance
>>
>>31353882
CZ 75 BD, used to own a FNX-9
I also have a Glock 19 I'm selling to my friend soon

All strikers are DA arent they?
>>
>>31353467
I prefer striker for the consistency but I'd have no problem switching to DA/SA for home defense or concealed carry.

t. Glock 19 and USP owner
>>
>>31354149
really depends on the gun most are single
glock is its own special thing that isnt single and isnt double
>>
>>31353467

Glock. I would only use DA/SA in condition 1.
>>
>>31354175
Well the glock is half cocked so id consider that double. I actually assumed all strikers were half cocked like the glocks
>>
>>31353467
I also prefer DA/SA. I own a Sig Pro and an SCCY and a Glawk 40, and I think the Sig trigger is better.
>>
I have a G19, LC9s, M&P 9, and 92fs. I don't really have a strong preference trigger wise t b h. I need to practice more with the DA pull on the 92fs (just got it) and the LC9s has a really light/surprise pull compared to the others.

I guess I'd say I like how striker fired guns feel more but I think it's more that I'm just used to them.

>I need to practice more with the DA pull on the 92fs (just got it)

Did you start a thread about your new M9 a few days ago by any chance? If not, I could link you a good video series on DA shooting.
>>
>>31354395
I didn't, but if you link the video I'll watch it when I get home in an hour or so.

I've fired maybe 15 DA shots from semi-auto pistols in my entire life so I'm not surprised I wasn't great at it. I might hit the range on Sunday again and try it some more but I'm trying to stop burning through so much ammo.
>>
I prefer to carry the strikers for their simplicity. The trigger is consistent, the action is basic, they're simple to maintain. You don't have to worry about a decocker on the one I carry, it's just a tiny optional thumb safety and I've trained with it for so long it's natural.

I've thought about switching to a Bersa Thunder and like the DA on it. For a full size pistol, definitely prefer a good DA/SA. The CZ-75, Hi-Power, 1911, and Beretta 92 are much more gratifying to shoot than something like a M&P9 or Glock 17.

I only like it on specific revolvers like the LCR. I have my grandfather's service revolver (cheap as shit 32 long Brazilian import) that feels like it has a 15 pound pull and the steel trigger cuts into your finger. You really have to want to shoot something to use that thing. He never used the thing and the barrel is literally bent.

>>31353467
Striker with a comp or better trigger. Smooth as a SA without the hammer jabbing me in the side.

Here's the videos. Guy is Ernest Langdon, he shoots Berettas including the 92 and PX4 competitively. Absolute monster with traditional double action.

With practicing DA, you don't need to neccesarily burn through ammo. You can be deliberate like in the videos where you see Ernest shoot DA, decock and repeat. Eventually, you can work on shooting two shots from DA to SA then incorporate advanced drills once you get the technique down. LuckyGunner's Youtube page has lots of good videos on shooting DA primarily Berettas too.

Also a small tidbit if you're wishing the DA trigger pull's weight could be a little lighter, you can buy the D Spring that takes off ~4lbs off your trigger pull, a lot of people do this to their Berettas.

The best part, It's only $6-7. Good luck anon!

DA/SA for full size
DAO for carry. Fuck having a safety, fuck needing to work the slide, fuck having an overly light trigger pull.
