The problems one runs into are numerous sanitation concerns varying by region, legal issues also by region, and time available. I work 9-5 so the 45-70 gets a workout on occasion at dusk and on weekends. Hogs are smart enough to learn patterns so only get good shots on weekends. North east hogs get nasty as fuck past October due to cold and food scarcity induced infection. After removing 8 of those fuckers last year I have only seen 2 so far so hopefully operation 2015 remove bacon was effective. But yeah you really only stop further loss of resources at best

So I've hunted and eaten boar in Italy. And it's fucking amazing. Do the ones here in the states taste different?

>how old the hog is
>what the hog's been eating
>what part of the country they were taken in.

A young boar whose balls haven't dropped taken in spring on the west coast that's been eating soft grass all it's life will taste like your run of the mill pork chop, comparatively an old angry sow that's been living deep in the woods of alabama and eating acorns, roots and corn out of farmers fields will be tough, stringy and gamey as fuck.

Hell, I would suspect a hog that's been feeding off winegrapes and mustard plants would be pretty interesting. I'll need to bother one of the ranchers I know who'se got both those and see if he has any problem hogs that he wants gone.
