Yes.
Without Krebs, you'll die.
Do you need it? No.
Is it nice to have? Yes.
Really though if you actually need to be using your rifle the safety should be off, period. Leave the tacticool speed flicking and bolt locking open to the range.
no. buy a trigger or a mount or anything useful

>>31338250
Like thr design, but felt flimsy to me I bent it and threw it in the trash
>>31338250
Worth the money? That's up to you. You don't really need the extended knob to quickly take the safety on and off like shooting an AR. If it helps with your efficiency in weapon manipulation, more power to you.
In Travis Haley's Adaptive Kalash video series, he's able to disengage a stock AK safety and shoot right at the same time as he can get a shot on target with the safety already off.
I personally don't like the hole to hold the bolt open, I just don't see a need for it.
>>31338313
No u
>>31338336
Really? I don't have that issue at all.
The only thing I don't care for is the slot for the bolt hold open. I don't need it or even use it and it's just an outlet for dirt, mud, sand and shit to find it's way in. That said, I love how easy it is to function the safety though so that makes it worth it for me.
>letting even more mud get into your gun
>>31338250
Are you feeling it now, Mr. Krebs?
I wouldn't mind one for the finger shelf thing but the stupid BHO slot kills it for me. It's unnecessary and all it does is leave a hole in the receiver.
Wasn't there a company who made a selector similar to that but without the dumb but notch cut out, back before Krebs came out with theirs?
>>31338250
>good sized hole in the dust cover
why?
I really like mine, but it's not necessary.
Would recommend if you got the extra chinga ching ching.
>>31339774
Forgot to mention, I like how I don't need to take my hand off the grip to use the safety with this installed.
>>31338682
AK already failed the mud test with a factory safety, what's your point?

> Bolt hold open.
There ya go. Some ranges require a visual check when people are down range that all weapons are clear. And having one of these negates remembering to bring your stupid orange chamber flag. Other than that, it's just /comfy/.
>>31340635
Those ranges do not deserve your money.
>>31338250
Not for $50.00 it isn't. If you want the bolt-hold open functionality just go buy a $10.00 selector off of gunbroker and take a grinder to it. If you want the little nubbin at the bottom because you're a manlet with weak hands you're retarded.
>>31340477
>implying it didn't still operate
Sure it failed, but all they had to do was take the dust cover off and shake it out or charge it a few times and it would have been right as rain. Something you would do anyway if your gun somehow got totally submerged in mud.
When I had an npap I didn't criticize it but I didn't give a fuck about it. Would I suggest someone pay for one and use time in their day to install it? Nope.
Are you willing to retrain your self on an ak for some cheap after market part? I'm not. Its function is awkward to engage. Once engaged sure...but it's not like it automatically catches the carrier. What difference does it make between hearing a click and seeing your action open? None. Still gotta mage change and get back on target.
>>31340739
Same guy...I would add that my npap took ar15 mags and held open from the fallower. Hex mags had the best fallower for lock up.
>>31338250
I like mine a lot. It's not essential, but it can make handling the rifle a little quicker. I might be in the minority, but I like the bolt hold because I let a lot of novice shooters use my rifle. It's a little comforting to have that obvious visual indicator that the rifle isn't in a fireable condition, but I'm sure most people don't need that.
In my opinion, an after market grip and a Krebs selector do a lot to change the feel of an AK. I'd do both if I were you, you'd be surprised how different the gun handles. Add a dong and you have a vastly more comfortable rifle.
One last thing, if you have a wire sidefolder, you won't be able to move the selector when the stock is folded.
>>31340635
What a completely idiotic excuse, you should be ashamed for even suggesting it. An arbitrary rule should not dictate what you put on a gun, are you going to put a manual safety on your carry gun because the shooting range demands one on it? And for fucks sake, you can stick brass inside your ak if someone's that anal about safety, I do it all the time at the range whenever I bring my sgl out.
>comfy
Now I'm convinced you're terminally retarded
>>31340739
this
and, even if you use Yugo BHO mags, the slot doesn't match up
>>31341013
I always thought it would be cool as shit if you could reload like this
>run out and yugo mag holds bolt open
>put safety back on as you take out the mag
>put new mag in
>take safety off
>>31341289
My NPAP came with a BHO safety.
I hate it.
