This cute little bastard is the M86 pursuit deterrent munition. The M86 pursuit deterrent munition looks similar to a wedge of cheese, if wedges of cheese were olive green and terribly lethal. It functions similar to a hand grenade in that there is a safety pin and lever that must be pulled and released to activate it. 25 seconds after it is activated, the mine goes all spider man and launches seven wires in different directions that latch onto the surrounding environment. It performs a self check, gets all hunkered down and becomes fully armed about a minute after activation.

This mine is terribly shy, and doesn't like to be noticed. If the wires are touched, the mine jumps into the air and explodes. If the wires are cut, the mine jumps into the air and explodes. If the mine is moved, it jumps into the air and explodes. Basically, stay the fudge away from it and everything will be peachy.

But this little mine isn't an eternal cold blooded killer that waits for years for someone to touch it and horribly kill them. If the mine is not detonated in 4 hours, it self destructs. If the battery reaches a certain level and the mine cannot self destruct, it begins to drain itself over 14 days, making it inactive, whereupon it can be safely picked up and disposed of.

The intended purpose of this mine is to be issued to Special Forces who use it when being chased by enemies. It is dropped somewhere where the pursuing forces must go out of their way to avoid it, or spend valuable time destroying it in place.
