With pic related, do I need a complete lower to complete the build, or will a stripped lower do?

What would I need? Thanks!
>>
>>31309775

>>
>>31309775
stripped
>>
>>31309775
Is that barrel nitrided or chrome lined?

http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-18-rifle-length-223-wylde-1-7-nitride-a2-freedom-rifle.html
>>
>>31309775
Palmetto state armory has literally that same deal but $76 cheaper today as a daily deal, fyi.
>>
Looks like its missing the buffertube and stock spacer. Mighy just be an oversight
>>
>>31309775
Stripped lower and something to use as a rear sight.
>>
>>31309819
I need that payment plan cos I just started a new job.
>>
>>31309819
PSA one is an 18" nitrided barrel

if OP's barrel is chrome lined, I would probably say it's a bit better.
>>
>>31309832
Its assembled together in the pic, there was one at the same price at my lgs in the display counter.
>>
>>31309842
Then wait and save up. SG puts this kit on sale for $400 throughout the year.
>>
>>31309845
Isn't nitriding better anyway? All my rifles are chrome lined but that's mostly because I was a retard and thought nitriding was something that only affected the outside of the barrel like a finish. A lot of what I've read recently said nitriding is better (harder and easier to clean) than chrome linings.

And yeah nice catch with the barrel length, but the tiny loss in velocity in an 18 vs 20" barrel is small.

>needing a rear sight
>>
>>31309883
nitriding gives better precision, it's easier to apply uniformly.

chrome lining resists heat better, if you get your rifle super burning hot a chrome lined bore would absolutely be better.
>>
>>31309870
It's worth it to me to try to get it now. I'm a little concerned about people flipping out about the election, and I wanna get this before the price could change.

I know I'm being paranoid, but I wanna be safe. This'll be my first AR, and I'm really excited to get this thing going.
>>
>>31309842
If you're that strapped for cash get the lower first. The price on those will probably go up as the election gets closer. Also make sure you have it shipped to an ffl that won't jew you with a $60 transfer fee.
>>
>>31309902
I'm also looking at getting a lower from Sportsman's Guide also.

Plan is to have a full gun within 6 weeks.
>>
>>31309897
Fair enough, buy the lower first though, as well as a couple magazines.
>>
>>31309895
Ive heard that as well, and should have mentioned it, but whether that is important or not depends on how op plans to shoot the rifle. Personally I'll probably stick with chrome lined as well on any new rifles for a while too.

but on top of those differences, the PSA bolt carrier is mil-spec (M16 cut), with mil-spec gas key screws and staking, and the bolt carrier has a chrome lined interior.

PSA's premium BCG line also has chrome lined bolt I think.

But the PSA's .223 Wylde chamber is supposed to be the "hotness" for good groups.

Chamber dimensions vary slightly and provide better precision or reliability, generally.
>>
>>31309883
not worth it, had one and the barrel ext came loose which is a common problem with the process so the barrel is junk. Also they are not easier to clean, is almost worse than a unlined barrel with powder sticking to the chamber and stuck cases
>>
>>31309929
>how op plans to shoot the rifle.

Probably just casual fun. InRange makes low-key competitions look so fun, that I'd like to try that one day.
>>
>>31309919
Just buy an Anderson, but do it ASAP. Any forged lower is as good as any other. No need to spend a ton on one. Anything from PSA or Anderson is fine.

>>31309920
This as well. PSA sells mags for $8 each if you buy 20 at once when they have that daily deal. My final shipment of those arrives tomorrow then I have to force myself to stop buying them.

>>31309936
All of their premium stuff is tested and overall very high quality. Their premium barrels are even made by fn.

>>31309942
Hmm, interesting. Glad I insisted on a chrome lined barrel for my AK then.

>>31309946
That probably means rapid fire then, so go with chrome if you can afford it. Live off beans and rice and save up until you can buy a premium upper off PSA or something.
>>
>>31309982
well a ak barrel isnt 2 piece like a ar barrel and the case is tapered so they almost have no extraction problems so I think you would have been fine either way
>>
>>31310002
Eh, I bought it as a hedge in case of Hillary getting another AWB in. I just wanted something that would last as long as possible considering I'd like to shoot it a fair bit. Changing an AK barrel doesn't seem anywhere near as simple as changing an ar one.

>>
>>31309919

Just buy the whole rifle.

>>

I personally prefer chrome lined but it's up to you. I'd wait and see what other deals come up between now and the end of the month.
>>
>>31310043
>bore's surface is coated with dry film lube, over the anodized surface.

Sooo... Does this mean the bore is fucking anodized instead of nitrided or chrome lined?
>>
>>31310080
I thought you could only anodize aluminum?

This has to be a mistake.

OP, if for no other reason, the description on other offerings is more descriptive.

Anyone interested in a complete Colt M16A1 lower?

It has some minor surface scratches, but otherwise it's in very good condition.
Original grey A1 finish still looks good.

Original unused FA trigger group made by Colt (with the exception of the auto-sear pin).

Willing to ship within the lower 48s.

No paperwork required, price is negotiable.

>>
>>31310549
is it cool if I post my credit card and home address on this board. Will you just ship it to me then?
>>
>>31310631
Yep, sounds good!
Make sure you include your social security number too.

Oh, by the way do you happen to have any dogs in the household?
I really want to know because... I... just... love dogs so very much!
Yeah, that right, I want to know because I love dogs!

Please provide a detailed description of any dogs that may be on the property between September 22 and 24.

I would really appreciate a copy of your work schedule and the floor plan of your residence as well.

Assuming this isn't some clever bait. Yes, it's chrome lined. They also parkerized the outside of the barrel. So while it's not the fancier nitriding, it will work fairly well for wear and rust resistance.
>>
>>31309775
del-ton makes some impeccable ar's.
psa makes some really great ar's also.
hard to go wrong op

Why do you want to know about my puppers? They are super nice and totally, completely innocent. They would love you even if you kicked my door in and shot them for no reason.
>>
>>31311980
ahhhhhhh, so cute.
>>
>>31311922
That's not the same kit, and I don't want a carbine. You think that maybe that suggests that Del-Ton chrome lines all their barrels, though?
>>
>>31312008
p.s. im not mr. atf that's also posting here>>31310736
>>
>>31312010
Del Ton doesn't chrome line all their barrels. It's still a $35 up charge on many of their custom uppers/barrel assemblies /kits. Some of their stuff comes stock with chrome lining, however.

I'd shoot them an email, their customer service department is well regarded.
>>
>>31312090
I sent an email asking about that earlier, and hope to hear back by tomorrow.

Get the fuck out, ATF.

You need to fix that fucking trim and poke that power cable back behind the stove, ya nasty fuck.

Also, your goddamned outlet cover is crooked. Don't you have a level to check this shit?
>>
>>31312090
I'd still be alright without a chrome lined barrel, right?
