Moisture.

Mix of industrial glass cleaner, bleach and toothpaste usually gets it clean for me. Mix to about pancake batter consistancy and store in tupperware.

Kershaw bead blast leaves a rougher finish on a knife than polished Steel or some other coating so moisture collects on it easier on the tiny level leading to it being more prone to rust

Is the finish bead blasted? I've had the same experience from just a half hour in a wet pocket, different knife but with bead blast finish on a stainless steel. In the future, only go for satin, stonewash, or coated blades.

Easy fix, rub with cloth and solvent, let dry, then rub with cloth and light oil to help protect it.

Actually, they're right. bead blasted blades (and some coarser stone wash finshes) leave micro divots in the blade, moisture sits there and starts to corrode the blade. Where do you live OP?
