since when do they make a 12" s&w 500 performance center, and why arent they on their website?

No idea but you seem like the right person to ask this --
with a revolver that fucking long, can you rest the barrel on the forearm of your non-shooting hand? Even when shooting with both hands I find it difficult to maintain aim with something so front heavy.
>>31227199
no you absolutely cannot. ALOT of high temperature and high pressure gasses escape from the gap between the barrel and the cylinder. its enough to blow your fingers off.

>What is a cylinder gap guys

I'm aware of cylinder gap, i'm wondering if a 44 mag spits so much lead shavings from it that it can still hurt you about a foot away from it
I'm talking about like if you raise your arm directly infront of you, then bend your elbow to 90deg and rest the middle of the barrel on the shaft of your radius
>>31227199
60,000+ psi gasses are not your friend.
>>31227288
A 38 special can blow you finger off. And either way its still hiting your shoulder. It would hurt like hell.

>>31227329
It would hit your bicep. From a foot away.
Anyone have anything about cylinder gap danger distance? Google gives nothing except what keeps getting posted here about people putting their thumbs right next to the gap

Das a big gun
>>31227338
I'll take the gun.
>>31227354
Maybe but it sounds way too risky take some rolled up paper and place it a foot away from the gap and see if it rips
>>31227180
I'm pretty sure it is just a 10.5". Those have been out for a bit.

Thats a good idea, thanks.
Can't believe this hasn't been done yet by one of those millions of gun youtubers. Maybe I'm just searching for it wrong.
Sorry for hijacking your thread OP

Stuff is still coming out and I wouldn't want to be even standing next to it. I know Rossi had that Circuit Judge revolver carbine with a shield to protect you from escaping gasses and powder residue.
>>31227407
No compared to pics of a 10.5 it definitely looks longer
>>31227409
There was a video of some European (Czech maybe?) guys showing handgun disarms. They showed why grabbing forward of the cylinder gap was a bad idea on a revolver using a sheet of paper; it's pretty much a last ditch type of thing since your hand is gonna get fucked.
I can't for the life of me source the video though, sorry.
Someone answer ops original question
>>31227434
Wow that's wild -- never saw one in person before and never noticed it in pics. That probably settles it then.
Thanks a lot man
>>31227199
yes but your forearm has to be pretty far forward and away from the cylinder, at least halfway down the barrel
