Buds has free shipping on firearms, you dolt. Transfer fees vary by area, but $20-25 is average. I know three places where I live that charge $10 per transfer. I don't know why people are so scared of buying guns online that they will massively overpay just to "avoid dem shippin n trans-fur fees."

Just depends on circumstances. Maybe Buds doesn't have it in stock, or an FFL gets pissy about transfers from places like Buds. In that case you have to figure out whether it's worth it to pay local retail on the gun plus sales tax or buy it from somewhere else and pay shipping plus transfer. Sometimes the Internet purchase comes out on top, sometimes not or you're willing to pay some extra for a guaranteed thing (it's physically present locally vs having to wait for shipping plus whatever potential problems that might entail).
