Should I get an MPX or an MP5? Which is better and why? I just want some sort of sub gun with that shape and feel.
the MPX is weird, ugly, and boring, it's just an AR pistol with different internals
the mp5 is classic cool but outdated and you can't really find "real" ones
also look at the skorpion evo and, if your budget allows, full auto mac 10s
The mpx is great.

isn't it illegal to own full auto guns in most states and if you're able to accuire an old gun pre ban don't you have to have some sort of special extremly expensive certificate to own it?
Let alone find a range that will let you shoot it.

I'll pass on the evo. i want something that can hold up to serious use and abuse. Polymer isnt gonna cut it for this one. Plus I hear the mags break easily.
I think the MPX looks cool and I like the familiar controls where as the MP5 is classic and iconic. the lack of last round bolt hold open kinda kills it though

No F/A without buying an old beaten gun for 10-20 times the price of a semi auto. At least you can drop the binary trigger into the MPX which makes me lean towards it. It would be cool to see an HK version as well

Have you considered an AR? If your going to get a stamp why not get it on a lower that can use multiple calibers?

no

no, just a 200$ tax stamp but the gun will most likely be over 10 grand
>Let alone find a range that will let you shoot it.
that might be a problem.
>>31214983
No, yes, and yes.
Unless you are in a cuck state, you can own one. It is stupid hard, and expensive to find one that is good and that you want. Range is not a problem, if you are buying something like that you either are the range, or have the land to use it. Most people without the land aren't putting down 10k for something they can't use whenever they feel like it.

I have an AR. I want a dedicated factory built 9mm SBR
>>31215081
You can buy a colt 6933 on a form 4 and then buy the colt 9mm upper/conversion kit
All for less than $2000 if you're frugal
>>31215000
The mags are fine. There are even drop test vids. Polymer is proven in guns see any Glock.
sneaky bump towards ARs
>>31215158
I know the MPX implements some parts but a 9mm AR is just trying to be something its not.

Glock mags have metal inside they are just polymer lined

colt smg is old school cool tho

When did these things first start coming out?

80's

Bro look up the "MPX owners group" on fuckbook. Everyday it's a new story about CH latches breaking, firing pins breaking, pins walking, etc. I was considering getting one but I think I'd rather just build an ar pistol
>>31215656
Ive heard a bit of that too, but ive heard of MP5 and clone problems as well. Ive come to accept there is no perfect weapon system. From what Im told its gen 2s that have issues. Im looking to pick up a used gen 1 if I get one.
>>31214856
MP5. Anything SIG touches is immediately trash.
>>31215709
The real issue with the gen 2 is that it won't cycle 147gr subs reliably without a can. Later gen 2's seem to be the ones with the ambi CH latch issues and I want to say that the pins walking out was a gen 1 thing. The pins walking out are an easy enough fix with the aftermarket offerings, my real gripe with the gen 1 is the ridiculous hand guard they used.
>>31215785
I like the look of it more than the gen 2. I already own a bunch of piccatiny accessories and no keymod shit so that helps.
>>31215832
thats just it, it's not a true picatinny rail, you have to use their proprietary adapters for it, or use the gen 1 Sig accessories. It's really not that huge of deal, but it's not like this thing came out back before keymod and Mlok didnt have footing.

An MPX can accept a AR-15 style trigger but SIG went full retard and said doing so will void the warranty. Their reason was that any other trigger besides the stock MPX one couldn't with stand the recoil impulse and will damage the lower receiver. Its kinda of fucking lame. To be fair I own one and the stock trigger isn't that bad, especially for a PDW. What really pisses me off is that they don't really make this information known and let people operate under the assumption that you can use an AR-15 trigger. I only found out because they put a notice in the box my MPX shipped in. This information really should be posted on the MPX product page.
