What are some good guns for kayaking
I'm thinking a folding-stock AK or short shotgun
Pic related. Dirt cheap. Waterproof. Compact. Semi auto.
And most importantly: floats

Helps to know what the purpose of the gun for is, besides kayaking.
Also is this over night kayaking? Or is this just going out for a bit and then going home?
Is this for protection against 2 legged or 4 legged creatures?
The more info you give, the better people can assist you.

If i fired a 45-70 directly left or right while in a kayak would it tip over
>>31207164
No not at all. As long as you lean into it. It would be loud as fuck. Sound carries much much easier over water. Bring ear pro
>>31207164
If shot with proper form probably not. What you should try is shooting behind you to propel yourself when your arms get tired.

Kyaks are very difficult to flip unintentionally. Canoes on the other hand... also I assume were talking about a non ocean Kyak

No, it's a short impulse THUMP, not a big torquey push.
Now you got me wondering though...could you have a pack/bag on your lap, and lean over it while kayaking for hunting? Animals on the beach would be all like "psshhhh, that guy's out in the water, he can't do anyt-"
You could be pretty quiet too.

hi-point in a ziplock bag? wouldn't want you to actually have a tragic boating accident

It's illegal where I am but you're absolutely right you can typically ride right up to deer.

be at least six feet tall in a loon 100 and tell me that.

I guess a rough outdoors gun that can handle black bears, river pirates, and also fits in a backpack or sheath for the kayak

Whoa, this is the pic i saw forever ago that made me think AK.
Do you have a POV shot?
>>31208195
Not my pic, unfortunately i didn't save the POV.
not gun related but kayaking is something ive really wanted to do recently. if only i had a cargo space on my car to carry one

get a used fiberglass whitewater boat, cheap, light as hell, just tie it on your roof with a little foam for a buffer. only downside is they crack if you're rough on 'em, it fixes easy with some patch and resin but your boat won't be quite as sexy as those $2000 ones.

black bears aren't going to give you trouble, and it sounds like you want a folding stock ak.

so if an inexperienced person decided to paddle off in a kayak, and he flipped 180 degrees and panicked, would that person most likely drown upside down? Seeing as how your legs are tucked in and all

Scientifically, this is a viable solution if in full auto and endless supply of ammunition.
>Tfw standard AK-47 recoil provides enough thrust for the gun itself to fly.

>hunting with a lever gun from a kayak
You know you're in America when...
