Russian forces still do that because the 5.45 has more ammo and lighter recoil, but the 7.62 has better barrier penetration.

Two ammo types per squad isn't so bad.

it must be crazy growing up as a normal (as you could be) afghan. your country would literally be the playground between super powers and some of the worlds most dangerous terrorists for the past 40+ years, infested with heroin addiction, aids, and radical islam.

a select few of the older afghans who don't touch boys are philosophically enlightening to converse with. Most afghans I had longer than 3 or 4 minute talk I didn't mind. Although these were some of their larger towns and their English was bretty gud. Still would have killed any of them for as little as a ham sandwich.
