How difficult is it to reactivate a deactivated firearm?

You place it into the /k/ube

depends on how it was deactivaded.
in one case it's enough to take out pins and welding in barrel, in another-easier to make new weapon.

impossible - it's easier to manufacture one from the ground up. pic related, functional M70 receiver that goes for 20$ in germany.
>>
>>31201906
Literally the OP photo. You can see where they drilled it and welded it shut. There's no other observable deactivation.

firing pin ? Bolt?
I don't believe, that only barrel was deactivated. Some shit must also be done with bolt.
>>
>>31201926
if only barrel-you can try to get one with help of "black diggers" or some kind of that.
tf you try to remove the pins, and weld holes-90% of staying without fingers and eyeballs.

The bolt works fine. I can pull it back and it still clicks when the trigger is pulled.

My apologies in advance about my lack of knowledge over guns. I'm a Euro so of course I don't have any experience. I'm just going by what someone told me when they quickly examined the rifle.
>>
>>31201950
Ehh, litte euro, if everything in life was so easy, as you think...

Watch some videos about this rifle. Learn some information about it, and how it works. If you don't know the basics-we couldn't help you.
And remember what was said about fingers and eyeballs. Don't even try to do something with rifle, until you can know EXACTLY what are you doing.
>>
>>31201950
Can you take pic of the inside of the bolt? So we can se what it looks like in there. Maybe all that was done was that the firing pin was removed. On which case you could probably make a new one from a nail.

But keep in mind what >>31201967 said.

ta-daam, you don't have the firing pin
(it must be in that hole in bolt mirror)
or it was cutted down in a half

your first exersize-learn how to reassembly the bolt. Come on, do it. and then show us, what it has inside.
>>
>>31202074
*disassembly
>>
>>31202042
>>31202053
You have no firing pin. You need to learn to dissasemble it so you can make a new one.

Also, there appears to be a METAL ROD blocking the barrel. A shame really, but you could get rid of it with careful use of power tools. But again, you need to learn how to dissasemble. Look up some tutorials on youtube. Maybe download a cracked version of World of Guns on steam so you can go straight to the mosin nagangt model without needing 30000xp to unlock it.
>>
>>31202121
this. You can propably drill the metal bit out and weld the hole shut and if firing pin is cut in half you can weld on and fabricate the missing bit easily as long as you get the protusion lenght right. It's gonna break easily tho.
Most firing pins are not serialled and hunted after parts so if someone sells it to you from say US, you're technically not doing anything illegal by buying it.

Yeah, keep this in mind: homemade firing pins are not very trustworthy. If you get the chance to use some machinery to make one, make about 10 already. That way you will have spares.

Also, for the rod in the barrel, ber careful when removing it to not screw up the rifling too much. Idealy wou want to use a tiny saw to remove the rod and the use increasely fine sandpaper to get it even. But try no sadpaper JUST the spot where the rod was.

It will be annoying and take about 3 or 4 hours, but in the end you will have succefully reactivated that beautiful machine.

Also, don't forget to light the incense and sing the Lithany of Repair when doing that to appease the machine spirit.

>>31201835
If you could somehow send this over to the states and have someone somehow "Do a little tune up" possibly involving another nugget, you could be golden. Then your only other issues is getting it back and ammo.

Having any kind of structural weakness inside the chamber of a firearm is a huge issue and asking for trouble. There is a chance that the weld from the pin holds up and everything runs fine but there is also a chance that the weld doesnt hold up and causes a massive failure that splits the entire receiver in two or more pieces shredding anything nearby.

Dont fuck with deactivated firearms unless you REALLY know what your doing.

Yes and no, it's not a complicated gun to repair and he may end up just going to the black market for a cheaper rifle.

It looks hard but possible to repair.

>don't let the barrel have any excess metal blocking it
>do stress tests on every part while the gun is dissasembled so you can exactly what needs to be fixed
>even in Japan you can order gun barrels or parts so look at all the possible legal parts you can buy
>look into reloading your mosin food if you can't buy ammo
>>
>>31202689

Oh i didnt say that it wasnt possible or safe to do so just that if your a total novice gunsmith that i wouldnt attempt it. There is a lot of shit that can go wrong in something like that so if your not fully prepared to do the task AND prepared to face any possible explosions you shouldnt do it.
>>
>>31202926
Hi. Gunsmith student here. By what I'm seeing, it looks like the receiver is intact and unfucked. Don't know about the bolt as you haven't disassembled it, but my guess would be you don't have a firing pin.
As for the barrel, yea, that's in the chamber. I wouldn't fuck with that. Get an unfucked barrel and swap them out. You'll need a big wrench for that.

Got any better pictures of the receiver? Especially towards the front?
>>
>>31203422
Meant to reply to op.
>>
>>31201967
This.

OP, this is so very NOT worth it. That gun will always be nearly as dangerous to you as to someone it's pointed at.

I do some amateur but moderately skilled gunsmithing, and have been known to invest more time and money than a gun was worth just for the academic exercise and practical learning experience, and fixing something that seemed unfixable.

This project isn't that. It's never going to be anything but unreasonably dangerous, and if the gun leaves your possession before it blows up, whether next year or 50 years from now, someone else may have no idea that you never intended to fire it, or that it's basically a booby trap.

Make that gun a wallhanger. If you need a gun, buy another. If you can't because of legality, but you're going to break your laws instead of fighting to change them, you're safer building a homemade shotgun with decent materials; good plans are readily available and require less skill than trying to resurrect this thing.
