Galil SAR (5.56x45mm) vs AK74(5.45x39mm)
As both an all around better rifle and as a better choice for a standard issue infantry rifle.
thats a hard ass question, gonna have to go with the AK74, it has less recoil, weighs less, and isnt made by jews

Obvious Jew problem aside, the increase weight would allow it to have less recoil, along with its ambidextrous features would make it easier to use. Along with the iron sights featuring aperture sights allowing greater accuracy.

74 is cute!
Cute!
Really comes down to what caliber you prefer or have in quantity. Galil is ambidextrous, but has sights on the dustcover. AK is lighter.

I may be talking out my ass, but didn't the galil have service life problems and trouble with sand (like most guns)?
>>31199402
Dont think so, if it did they wouldn't still use it in some brigades. The FAL did though, which is why the Shylocks adopted the Galil in the first place.

Its a very reliable, albeit heavy AK variant. It's better than the AK74 in a few respects, like better sights, ambi controls, slightly lighter recoil, etc.
But, it's more expensive to produce - and this is the bottom line with militaries. I know Columbia, Honduras, South Africa still use it, but it's getting up there in years too.
>>31199402
the galil was actually made because the FAL would have trouble in the sand

>they wouldn't still use it in some brigades
They don't.

The government guard still use it.

The government guard isn't military and they don't splash in sand.
I'm not trying to meme it up here, but doesn't the buffer tube on an AR15/AR10 make it have less recoil? Would that not make it a better choice than either rifle?
