Sure is. It's a copy of a BMW R71 so a DPM or an Mg42 would be acceptable. I am partial to the MG42, my buddy is building a semi DPM so i could go both ways.

Hey guys, I need some opinions/input. I have built my first AR platform however I have yet to get the stock, barrel, and handguards. I'm holding off on the buffer tube/stock until I figure out which barrel length to get.

My questions are these
1. Rifle length (M16A2 clone) or M4? Why one over the other? I am looking to shoot for thrills and maybe do a bit of hunting.

2. Whats a good fixed quad rail? Non free floating.

I'd love an FN barrel but damn are they expensive. Plus I've picked a shitty time to build. Everything is sold out. I'm pretty happy with what I got. I ended up getting a BCM complete upper for 70 bucks cause it was a demo/scratched one. It came the other day. Not a scratch on the thing.

Total I've spent about 200 bucks and it's just killing me not to get a steal on a good barrel. I guess that falls into the spend once cry once category.

I did gov profile 1/7 twist. My buddy has an AR with a heavy bbl and it's heavy. Like really front heavy and it's only a 16".

I would say do heavy only if you plan on long range bipod and scope shooting.

the barrel length i think is enough weight to minimize recoil. mine is .750 from gas block out, it balances good but i wouldnt wanna carry it everywhere

cool. Looks like I may end up going with the Windham Weaponry A2 gov 20 inch barrel. it comes with the handguards. I'll go with that classic 1990 look and just throw a carry handle on the flat top.

Nice man. Make sure you oil it when you get it. Mine was mottled and weird looking on arrival but after a thick coat of oil rubbed in all over, it looked normal. Just was a little dry. I had to reapply under the hand guards after the first Time shooting but it's been good ever since then.
