You can take it up a notch and be in the same price range with Jameson. It's probably the best cheap whiskey, but Evan isn't terrible considering. If you've got an extra $5 or $10 try Bulleit. Their rye is pretty awesome as well.

Bulleit rye is actually kinda great for the price senpai. Many people do not like it because it tastes a bit rough, not realizing that is kinda the point. Its for people who like the whiskey to bite back a little, but not be complete swill.

That being said, there are certainly better whiskeys out there. It is no redbreast, but it certainly has its place.

Had a few boiler makers tonight made with Rahr summer wheat and .40 Creek. Pretty fucking good. Both have a strikingly similar flavor profile being that one is a Canadian whiskey and the other is a German style beer made in Texas. Will drink again.
