As more and more robots and drones and unmanned electronic is being deployed, what type of bullets will good for taking out drones/new tech? I'm thinking wide caliber to fuck up as much circuitry as possible, but that would also lessen the AP possible without going into .50 BMG/HUEG CANNON-territory.
I'm thinking 10mm Auto with well developed bullets will make a comeback.
I'm thinking within the frame of a single person carrying and using the weapon, not much vehicle mounted M2s and railguns.
What do you guys think?

If you are talking about robot infantry mass issue, M995 for 5.56mm and use .50 M82's for marksman use. EMP grenades would be useful as well.

let me call a buddy of mine whose an expert on killing cyborgs

Not talking mass issue, more "tinfol-hat when da gubmint comes for muh guns" but fighting a country who has a large amount of cyborgs too is an interesting thought

>Year 2138
>USMC's elite 0311 cyborg infantry
>Recently equipped with their state of the art "new" M4A1s donated by the Missouri National Guard
This picture is so ironically accurate, and completely unintentionally at that.

>How do we kill cyborgs?
Liquid fluoride

Mines and bombs should do the work.
why the fuck would a robit need an acog.
fuck you.

Flux compression generator... I'm not sure how much of an emp you'd get out of it but you could probably make one the size of a grenade...
This may be for a new post but, how would you make an EMP ?
With bullets.
Also cyborgs aren't entirely robotic like drones, they're humans with cybernetic augmentations by definition.
A more important question is why wouldn't YOU want to become a badass cyborg?

>EMP grenades
this is a fictional concept, not a real thing.
this is like if you suggested we use the X-wing to shoot down mig-29's

with a nuclear weapon, typically
>>31182935
Nuclear detonations.
They can be generated in lab environments but require very large specialized equipment and and immense power generation. Not something portable or feasible as an infantry scale weapon.

Pretty much any ordinance we use today. Robots have motors, hydraulics, or some sort of synthetic muscle fibers depending on how fancy you make them. All those are still vulnerable to bullet. Doesn't need to completely destroy it, just needs to break and damage enough parts to gum up the works.
Maybe you'd see a shift back towards battle rifle calibers, but I don't think it'd make a huge difference.
