I've bought a few Stag lowers and one complete rifle. Not really expensive and decent quality. I think they have some Colt people working there as it's down the road.

I love mine. 2k rounds so far with no problems. Buy it.

Noveske makes their own barrels, I'm sure lots of those other companies do more than just rebrand CMT parts too.

But in general yes, a lot of stuff is made by the same places. Aero precision, for one.

So we did call them up though and they are replacing the rifle for the customer, no charge. The whole situation was handled in 5 minutes so I will say they have some pretty good customer service compared to the rest of the gun industry.

It is pretty rare for a rifle's headspace to be out of wack straight out of the factory since most of the time they do test them to verify that they go bang. If you truly are worried, take it to a gunsmith, they can then test it to see if something is up or not.

Wasn't a rifle, it was just an upper and the gun store assembled it. I hear it's almost unheard of for this kind of thing to happen with an AR with new milspec parts, so now I'm not sure.

I rock a model 1. Everything on it is acceptable and straight. Added me own staking to the castle nut but they have good quality parts. I trust stag.
