Hi /k/ I'm looking for good combat shoes. Something that's light but also strong. Maybe something like pic related. What do you wear?
>>31181030
Something that you can wear in public without people noticing them too much would be nice
>>31181030
Pic related seems nice but it's maybe a bit too much
best
Magnum make some pretty tough boots for reasonable prices

I went with two pairs of Belleville boots like 3 years ago, and they are still going strong.
http://www.bellevilleboot.com/
Went with Khyber and Minimil, and alternate between them.
Got some free sole glue - black with the minimils, and only had to use it on the heels at the 2 year mark.

Must be air force.
>>31181030
Wellies.
The only pair you'll ever need.
I got a couple pairs of Rockport steel-toe work boots I got from my engineering jobs, I'll probably just wear those. They're light and sturdy.

Those would fall the fuck apart the first week in the field.

>Something that's light but also strong.
Look at modern hiking boots. Like: >>31181051
As for me, I prefer heavy and stronger. I have 4 years on a pair of Danner Mountain Lights (the original model, not the Mountain LIght II or the urban hipster Mountain Light series), and while heavy and requiring a month of break-in time, they're fucking awesome and put up with anything.
Pic related. Red Wing #400

aren't they bad for running? Seriously, my brother has the sneekers and they aren't good for it, at all.

where im from, those are winter house slippers.
>>31181073
I got issued Belleville's and they're by far the most comfortable boots I've had, but they run really large
>>31181176
What ever happened to these? I remember it being a big deal best the game actually came out, then nothing.
Was thinking about getting this, any input on them ?

Sensible answer? Any semi-reputable hiking shoe.
We wuz soldiers answer? Rocky, Belleville, Nike, Oakley
'I enjoy pain and suffering' answer? The 60 dollar standard issue boots from clothing sales.
>>31181047
are the DMS any good? In comparison to other boots like the Haix P6 the sole is much thinner. Some report to develop problems like hurtin feet or pain in the joints after longer times of wear because of that. True?

Picked these up in early 2016. They're great for hiking, don't feel bulky and are comfortable so I'd imagine they'd be fine for """"combat""""

Forgot the pic and also forgot they're best feature: they are extremely light

If you're not planning to ruck, any answer other than Merells (or equivalent) is the wrong answer. And you can make some compelling arguments for them even with a load.
Are 5.11 boots any good? There's a 5.11 store where I live and I tried on pic related and liked it quite a bit.
>pic related is 5.11 2.0 XPRT boot 8"

Whats the name, you fucking retard.
>>31183387

Can someone explains what this means this to me?
>>31185651
It's another term for having a fight, usually a street fight
>>31186614
No.

I think he is implying the boot amplifying your melee kick damage.

I work for a retailer that sells a metric fuckton of 5.11 stuff. It's not any super kewl opr8r shit, but most 5.11 stuff is really well made. We have a lot of local PD and FD/EMS come in to buy their boots and pants, and they seem to love them.
I'm loving pic related. They're heavy, but they're about the most comfortable boots I've ever owned.
I've also had success with Merrell MOABs, there's a reason why they're kind of the boilerplate "decent hiking boot". They didn't last as long as I'd have liked though.
Wish I could try those Salomons everyone talks up. But they only come in widths of "narrow" and "ice skate" that are incompatible with my cinderblock feet.

the best 8 inch boots ever made by danner in the

I've been debating getting a pair or two of jungle boots, one for operator fantasy league and the other for my oppressively hot factory.
>>31181030
Sorel Conquest does anybody have a pair?
What qualities constitute a good boot?
Because these have changeable insole so they're comfy, composite/steel toe for kicking things and protection, ASTM-standard puncture and electrical hazard resistant soles, water resistant, leather, and mine haven't fallen apart after 5 years of dragging wooden pallets over them.
Only downside I can think of is the thinner non-slip tread rather than some thick hiking type tread.
>>31189128
I always look for pairs that are oil resistant. Having your soles melt isn't that much fun. Also fireproof.
>>31182614
I bought a pair of Kampfstiefel 2005 (which are the same as the DMS as far as I know) and I have no problems at all with them. They are really comfy and durable
Get the Lowa Super Camp 2 I have a pair. They took a while to break in but I did 100miles in 16hrs in them without any blisters. Awesome boots
>>31181030
Anything US-made. Especially hiking boots.
>>31183378
I have a pair of these.
I bought the steel toes because I work at a gym and I've fucked up one of them pretty good.
Still feel great though.
Who's anonshawn?
>>31189128
Do you have a link for those?
>>31181063
Can't agree, had a pair for exactly 3 weeks, wore them on a roofing job, soles tore off in that amount of time
I have lowa's renegade gtx. I took them for a millitary drill in the golan heights and southern israel aswell - both rocky terrain and sand dunes. They are strong, and fairly okay weight-wise. They are also really bad in hot weather, probably because of the gore-tex.
