Use oxalic acid to remove rust from steel. I use it for old bicycle frames and AK receivers after heat treating. Just soak for a few hours, rinse, and wipe on some oil.

Since no one is offering genuine help, I'll pitch in with the bit of information I know.

You'll need about a quarter dollars worth of acetic acid - a liquid consisting of about 5–20% (CH3COOH), water, and other trace chemicals, which may include flavorings. The acetic acid is produced by the fermentation of ethanol by acetic acid bacteria. The bacteria eats away any barrel fouling and that's what you want. Submerge and soak your rifle in a vat of vinegar between 30 minutes to half an hour.
