Bad scenario: captured as a slave for questioning or extra-special sacrifice later

Neutral: Taken along as a mix of guest and prisioner till you can start to learn the language and befriend them

Why, out of all the pre-columbian civilizations, do the Inca get left out of pretty much every discussion?

For example, the Inca ruled an empire of over 20 million people, used bronze weaponry roughly on par with the ancient Greeks, and invented a system of "writing" out of string knots. Their society was completely unlike any other; the Incas had no merchants, no marketplaces, no banks, no commerce, no trade vessels. It was the "truest" form of socialism to ever exist; all resources were kept in state warehouses to be distributed as needed. The caste of clerks and accountants ruled the empire, and wielded absolute authority over the people, from their daily meal schedules to what type of work they preformed to who would be married and when. Any interruption to this order was considered an attack on the state itself, and the violator was nearly always executed. Even idling was illegal it could very easily get you hanged.

This brutal system was extremely good at warfare. 100000 conscripts could be equipped, mobilized and transported quickly along a very precise set of roads that rivaled the famed Roman roads in quality. Units were organized into decimal notion, from groups of 10 to 100 to 1000 to 10000. Weapons included copper star maces, bronze spears, bronze short swords and axes, javelins, slingshots, bolos, and slings. Armor included bronze breastplates, leather, copper/wood plates covered in hide, and wooden shields. For the most part, they softened up enemy resistance with skirmishers carrying slingshots and bolos before charging in mass human waves, using sheer numbers to overwhelm the enemy.

If I had to bet between 10000 Azetcs vs 10000 Inca, I would put money on the Inca every single time.

Well Meso Americans are very small people (their men barely break 5 feet tall on average), so you wouldn't be facing down the big hulking SOBs in Apocalpyto.

Really there was a reason why the Spaniards kicked the living shit out of them. Steel, gunpowder and horses were obvious advantages; but beyond that their tactics and martial skills were primitive compared to Europeans and as I noted they're generally pretty small.

The New Zealand Land Wars were fought with guns, not guns vs clubs.
It was rather unusual because it wasn't a case of "Locals get BTFO by a tiny number of invaders".
In fact, both sides had their set of advantages.

The British had better guns, greater numbers, and supply lines.
The Maori could handle the terrain better, and were superior strategists and fortification engineers (god knows how).

Unfortunately for the Maori, their fortifications would eventually run out of food or ammo and then they'd get mowed down as they retreated because only the British had guns which could be used on the run.

There are several examples of wheels being used in Mesoamerica. But without beasts of burden, they would have been useless as vehicles.
