Does /k/ zero their pistols?
bump
i made sure it shot true, down the middle
close pistol shooting for me is more point n click. you have to push out like 15-20 yds to actually use a six oclock or pumpkin on post

It is unlikely that you will be engaging at those distances for self defense and if you are expecting to be engaging at a distance, bring a rifle.

no shit assburgers
the op is talking about zeroing sights and i gave him an example of when i use them like that
>>31174086
Yeah, I use a Caldwell rest. Range depends on the pistol, usually 15m for something like a service style 9mm. I had a TC Contender with a 30-30 barrel and used to sight it in for 100m.
If zero will require replacing the sights or something, I usually don't bother.
The manufacturer of my sights said they're POA/POI at twenty yards. And they are.

I was trying to agree with you and expand on your response, though the value of my post is questionable.
>>31174086
By zeroing, do you mean shooting 5 shots and assessing the group, and adjusting the sights based on point of aim and point of impact?
Then yes, i have been known to do that.

>meter
>>31174485
we can both agree that at the distances pistol sights are most useful, they are underpowered
>>31174086
What does zeroing mean nigga?>>31174086
>>31174322
Wait there are actually people who unironically don't make sure their sights are lined up in the general direction their bullets are flying?
>>31174086
I originally started doing it for my .22 bullseye guns but since I have the equipment I check them all for zero because why not?
>>31174675
Have you ever had a pistol that wasn't? I have not encountered one which needed to have the rear sight drifted.
>>31174725
But you did check for that, right? I mean you didn't just shoot it at the range and say, "Oh, well it's a foot the right. pttb... like I give a fuck!" /range trip
>>31174798
If you know it's off by a foot just shoot a foot to the left of your target baka senpai

You're a stormtrooper, aren't you?
