You do know that the very few that they actually had left were completely inoperable right? With proper maintenance/care they last about 4-5 years.

In a shit hole like Afghanistan without proper storage, they probably died after about 2, three if they're lucky.

The only mistake was letting the Pakis handle who got weapons and funding.

You understand that Arab countries/Muslim billionaires/etc were paying for arms long before and after any US involvement, right? Read up on Operation Cyclone - the US provided funds to Pakistan to train, equip, and arm the mujaheddin (something they were already doing). The funds allocated facilitate the mujaheddin weren't used primarily on weapons, they were used on logistics networks and the infrastructure the Pakistani's used to recruit and train fighters.
