It's hard to shoot it well at any range past 10 feet. Other than that it's a great backup gun.

I bought the Taurus TCP. It's barrel was 1/2 inch longer then the Ruger but gun is same size. I don't get it. Anyway it was only $179.00 here and always went bang through about 150 rounds and I like it.

The only thing I have to add is the gen1 LCP has no sights and a long heavy trigger. Gen 2 has some sights and a medium length pull heavy trigger. Some have posted about the red trigger but I haven't handled or shot one. I have a Gen1, waifu has gen2. They are great guns for what they are designed for: satisfying the first rule of a gunfight at "get the fuck off me" ranges.

Anybody interested in a .380 should seriously consider a Makarov. Similarly sized and the 9mm Mak cartridge will do everything the .380 does.

TCP poster here and in response to Mr. Makarov I will say I own 3 Makarovs, a PA63 and a P64 all in 9X18. The Makarovs are some of my favorite pistols and very accurate. They always go to the range with me. They are not a pocket gun! The TCP fully loaded weighs far less then a Makarov empty. Also the Makarov is about twice the size.

Except the Mak is big and heavy compared to all the .380 pistols in this thread.

The Mak is more comparable to a SW Shield, but thicker and heavier, while being in a smaller round. Don't get me wrong, I really like my Mak, but it's not a great CC option.
