Would it work? Cheap scope rings+cheap light+rail= cheap AR light for home defense? I'm not spending $100s of dollars on some fucking streamlight.
>>
you would just need to measure it, and if it had a little leeway you could wrap duct tape on the light.
>>
OP go with AA battery flash light, link what you are thinking of using.

Try and find water proof too.

I'd like to use something like that. Nice LED, cheap, waterproof lights go for pretty cheap now.
>>
We just need dimensions and sizes, i'm interested in this too!
>>
been thinking about this. im probably making some mag pouches too. i don't need molle on top of the mag pouch and i dont need to pay $25 for better than shit mag pouches. any advice or patterns? i already have the sewing machine and I'm probably going to use some heavy canvas and velcro.

You could use zip ties depending on your guns furniture and flashlight.

Homemade chicom rig
>>
>>31164402
inline mounts are like $35
>>

I actually did this to my Maverick 88 a couple weeks back w/ a $20 Chinese no-name flashlight that claims to be 1000 lumens and 2 scope rings totaling like, $6 for both I believe. Flash light isn't 1000 lumens but it's pretty damn bright past 100 yards.
>>
Not OP, I bought a surefire m951, probably gonna malkoff it.
Can I stick in 18650s or do I have to use CR123s?
>>
They literally make ring mounts for flashlights you fucking troglodyte faggot
>>
>>31164402
I did this with a Fenix brand light and some no-name 1" scope rings, it worked pretty well.
>>
>dipshits still don't know how to into Surefire M951 w/ mount on Jewbay for $100
Lol.
>>
Yeah, just get 1" scope rings and use a 1" diameter body light. People do this all the time. I did it with an EagleTac light and an old piece of scope ring that I had for years.

>Buy one, get one free for a ten dollar fee.

Well they're already proven they're dishonest once.
>>

I have a maverick 88. Please explain in further detail how you accomplished this.

Pics are appreciated
>>
>>31164402
I've done this. It works. But I got lucky and the cheap ass LED flashlight I have fits snugly. If you have a flashlight laying around go for it!

I bought this Barska rail for $40. The only problem I've had out of it so far is I had to buy a 7 5/8 action slide tube for another $50 to go with it.
>>
>>31164402
or go even cheaper and get that $3 1 inch flashlight picatinny mount on Centerfire
>>
>>31164769
I took apart an old laptop battery I had lying around.
Seems like 18650s don't fit.
But I've heard of people performing mods where you just attached sandpaper to a drill attachment and bored out the inside until an 18650 could slide right through.

Back then, some people did this.

But holy fuck, it's 2016 and you can buy a proctor light mount for $60 and a protac for $40.

And if you think that's expensive, I would suggest giving up on guns and picking up another less "expensive" hobby.
>>
>>31165277
Good solution, but remove light on range days. Flashlights not designed for shooting can be damaged by repeating recoil.
>>
>>31166856
for a light mount he can even get the $5 amazon chink special
if you're afraid of it vibrating open just loctite it or some shit
