It's actually not so bad. But if you can afford it, sub2000.
>>
Of course it is, dingus
>>
Fine, unremarkable little carbine. If you get a good deal on it, awesome. If not, a SUB2000 does the same job better in every way for like $100 more.

Personally, I've no desire to own one because it doesn't serve enough of a utility to justify its boringness. Of course, by my standards neither does an AR-15, so take that as you will.

i searched hi point 995 and this is the first picture that came up didnt realize what it is from, sends the wrong impression mods pls delete

Pros: reliable, accurate, cheap to feed, cheap to buy, retains resale value
Cons: boring, ghetto, 10 round mags, limited aftermarket, trigger is sandy balls

One more pro and con tho. The QC on these things sucks, this is why there's such a huge disagreement on if they're "good" guns or not. Some people get lemons, some people get em working like a champ, but all people question the bad ones.

The pro to offset this is a fucking amazing warranty. Forever and ever no questions asks, though I heard putting it into an ATI stock MAY void it. No confirmation though, so take with a grain.

It's fine by me, but the 10 round mag is a bit limiting.

That old design looks like shit.
>>

Aftermarket mags do fix that, but yeah, it is an issue.
>>
>>31164341
What is the point of a large aftermarket on hipoints when all that is needed is already being sold by hipoint itself?
>>
>>31164479

To be fair the new design looks like shit also.

>>31164097
Yes it's approved, if you're super broke but need something, it works just fine

I have a Hi-point .45 that I got for free, hasn't ever malfunctioned and is accurate, although I'm pretty sure the frame is made from melted Legos and the slide is made entirely of cast wheel weights. It just works, I assume the carbine is no different
