So i have the full sized 9mm version of this handgun down on layaway right now used for 700. (480 dollars to go)

Anything i should know about these guns in particular? I know the USP is a great pistol in general and mags are expensive as fuck but that's to be expected with H&K. This handgun i have on layaway was made sometime between 2003-2004 i think, everything looks good inside, a bit dusty and needs some TLC but nothing a good cleaning can't do.

When i get this gun i can at least say
>M-muh H&K elitism and cool kid status

Anyone else own the USP? Discuss /k/.

Lots of stuff from a 40/45 USP owner here.

The plastic HK mags are actually pretty cheap compared to the steel ones in the .45s and compacts. They are about 40 bucks. That Muslim guy is going to tell you to get steel ones for it, but they don't exist for the USP9/40, at least not in HK inventory.

You can get a TLR-3 that is already adapted to the gun like pic related. Its a decent light for not too much, and if you use it properly you can reach the switch.

The triggers are plenty shootable, but if you do anything too them I would recommend just getting a some flitz polish and taking a rag to the contact surfaces, or just shoot it a lot.

I have Trijicon HDs on mine, and I wish I got standard mepro sights. I will pretty much always have a light when I shoot these guns, and I am not a fan of the more open sights.

Lastly the USP 45 is only just a little longer in length, 1mm taller in slide height, and the same width as the 9/40. This means it will fit in the same holsters if its a light bearing holster, and even some leather holsters in the non-light bearing holsters. I have a KT Mech that fits bothe my USP .40 and .45.

Thats not a USP.
>>
>>31159691

It completely depends on how old the pistol is. A USP made in the last 3 years would be a reasonable buy at 700, however; any older than that is questionable. It also depends on where he lives.

>>31159679

I have a USP Full Size in .40 I managed to get for $400. It was made in 2000, but I got a free barrel made in 2014. It's a fun pistol and probably my favorite, it's got a build quality like no other, however, there are draw backs.

The pistol is fuck hueg, so carrying it comfortably will probably be a no-go.
It also has a fairly low ammo capacity compared to equivalent pistols. My .40 only holds 13+1, the 9mm only holds 15+1. My wife's P250 Compact holds 15+1 (the P250 full size holds 17+1.)
Parts are fucking expensive. On average spare magazines will cost you around $40 USD. You can sometimes find them for $25, but those prices typically don't last long.

I do love the pistol, but it ain't perfect.

No it isn't, and how dump do you think HKfags in an unofficial HK thread are going to be? Do you really think people wouldn't recognize the different slide lock lever and mag release? Along with a completely different trigger guard profile.

anon, come on. Is this bait?

Yeah, completely different than what you posted originally, and I don't see a problem with that USP frame.

HK is expensive, do you really expect a USP to be the price of a Taurus PT92?
>>
>>31159916
There are 3 types of people who bitch about HK prices

>People who can only afford 250 dollar guns because they lack impulse control.

>People who only own a few good guns because thats all they can afford.

And
> People who own 8 glocks a couple of S&Ws 11 different rifles in combat oddball and non-combat calibers.

One of those opinions i worth respecting but they should all be taken with a grain of salt.

Its a P30.

The much older ones with the non-rubberized hammer and the land-and-groove rifling do sell for a bit less because so many parts inside have been redesigned and improved on, but anything from about 1997 and newer I would consider to be g2g.

I recently bought a 2004 USP45 off Gunbroker for $525 while a like new 2012 USP45 sold around the same-frame for $595, but my gun also had holster wear while the newer one looked pristine. $700 + tax is still too high, considering that he can get a brand new USP9 online for around $775 with free shipping. Consider that tax is going to add like $60 and that's practically the same price as a new one ordered online.

You can get USP40 16-round jet funnel magazines for only $37. and USP9 magazines REGULARLY sell for only $30. Stop bitching about the price of magazines when you have done no market research.

If its not a P30 then its an HK45, either way its still not a USP. Don't try to change the subject, you got caught in a lie and your shitpost failed.
>>
>>31160290
Some people can't legitimately afford HKs. If they have quality guns anyway, then no big deal, but they still should not be take too seriously since its mostly sour grapes.
>>
>Layaway
Poor people really are stupid
>>
>>31160379
OK, Mr HK Expert.
>>
>>31159679
A full size USP 9 was my first USP, since then I have bought 3 others.
The USP 9 is a bit big for what it is, but its light, shoots like a dream and is sexy as fuck.
Mags are more expensive than glock (and a bit harder to find if you're not looking online), but are cheaper than like Sig or FN mags.
Also, I have a V1 and I bought the match trigger kit and installed it, but ended up putting the original trigger return spring and hammer spring back in, the return spring in the match kit is too weak in my opinion for a very positive reset and the weaker hammer spring squeaked.
Finally, $700 for a 2003-04 USP is a bit steep unless it comes with some cool shit like a ton of mags and night sights or something. I got my USP 45 used (2013 production, looks like its never been shot, came with 3 mags) for $650 with very little shopping around. You won't be disappointed for $700, I bought my USP 9 new for $900 and don't regret it a bit, but they can be had for less.

>>31159863
Are trying to tell me that that tiny scratch is a crack?
>>
>>31160379
I think its a VP9 bro.
>>
>>31160386
Agreed. If all someone can afford is a single $300 Ruger that they take shooting once a month, then I'm not going to call them out for whining about how expensive HK handguns are. But if they own over $2000 worth of different low cost weapons, or they shoot a $500 Glock, and they're complaining about how much more expensive a new $520-550 VP9 is, or how much more expensive a used $550 USP is, then I'm going to rub their face in it a little.

No, it's an HK45. Look at the date code and the model code on the slide.

The date code isn't model specific, but the serial could be. I don't pay much attention to that however. I do know the difference between the USP and P30 series of guns however.

The prefix on the serial number is the model code. 126 = HK45
