Shot a rabbit once with a .243 using barnse varmint grenade handloads. There was nothing left really. Just some scraps of skin and bone in about a 6' diameter around it.

You know, I've been surprised by bullets before. 5.56 fmj seemed to be just an excellent rabbit round that punched straight through with minimal mess, then .22 WMR Hornady Critical Defense for short barreled pistols god damn ripped a ground squirrel in half where his chest basically exploded and a sliver of spinal cord was the only thing holding his halves together.

I would think 54 romeo would completely vaporize half its body while leaving the other relatively unscathed other than its internal organs essentially exploding.

Shot a rabbit with hot hot 357 XTP handloads (very similar to 30-30 loads) my grandpa made up for bears from a model 94. It didnt live. I found the ears hanging from a branch about 4' up and 3' to the side from where i shot it. Couldn't find much else other than blood drops.

Shot a jackrabbits heart out with my wifes mosin. Still intact and beating. Shit was cash
