I figure since it's open carry I have more options.

Pic potentially unrelated I just thought it was interesting.

If you want a .357 mag autoloader get an Deagle.

Literally. Any. Handgun.
Unless you're guarding the president any 9mm double stack pistol will do fine, be it SIG, Glock, or Beretta. If you really, really want to feel secure, my opinion is get a 10mm and buy ammo loaded to spec, not shitty FBI loads, or just run .40 SpitWad through it if you're feeling cheap.

Or buy Underwood 10mm ammo and blast half dollar sized holes in people.

>not to mention a good # of security companies wont OK SAO guns

what a fucking meme

they must all be 9mm fags
>>
>>31111704
Well I'm personally debating between a Glock 40 and Glock 17. Which would you recommend?
>>
>>31111695

I'd pick this, or:
Beretta 92fs
Cz75b
USP45

That's basically it. Pick a fullsize 9mm, or the USP in .45. Maybe you'll get to live out your Black Mesa fantasies

17s are cheaper and have higher capacity but you can't go wrong with a 40. And as I said, you can shoot .40 S&W through a 10mm too, and there's more than enough defensive loads for .40.

It's all up to you, man.
>>
>>31111704
For dollarsized holes i recommend a Deagle .50 AE
>>
>>31111709
its a liability thing, for us, anything striker fired or DA/SA in 9 or 40 was perfectly fine, no 45, no SAO
>>
>>
>>31111721
Well it will be several months before I have time off to actually take the test(s) so money isn't much of an object. The Magazine capacity isn't a huge issue to me (I hope I don't regret that) so I'm looking at the Glock 40, I think.

Next time Dorothy needs a security guard, yeah, pretty good option.

I can understand because it'd annihilate your target instead of mildly annoying it like with 9meme and 40 short&weak

Sig p320 if you like striker fired, otherwise P226 with the SRT and gray guns PSAIT

own that shit, wear mirrored aviators and carry dual 29s and a cartridge bandolier.
>>
>>31111672
Beretta 92A1 Brigadier with 20rd mags.

>>31111676
It's heavy as shit and not designed as a fighting weapon, Deagle's are for sporting.

The Coonan is a conventional short recoil automatic, much better suited as a fighting pistol.
>>
If the state requirement is anything like mine (NC) you'll need something with at least 10 round magazines. Other than that you're fine, we had one guy show up to the course with a fucking Hi Point, which is why I know they're shit guns.

The firing tables require 10 consecutive shots, you can bring a 1911, but you'll be reloading in the middle of every qualification round. This shouldn't be a problem for competent shooters, but most Security personnel are not, especially with pistols. Buy a double stack OP.
>>
>>31112852
>which is why I know they're shit guns
They're not terrible, I mean, the ergos suck, they're low capacity, and heavy, but they're intended as a poorfag gun, not as a service weapon, they're hard to break, the safety works, and generally they run quite alright (though they're more sensitive to limpwristing).

They can be had for $150 and for that price, they're kind of unrivaled, no other pistol for that price is as good, most other centerfire pistols aren't even safe in that pricerange.

It's not a weapon I'll recommend for someone with a better budget, for just $100 more you can get a Serbian Tokarev clone in 9mm, which is overall a much better pistol.

I'm guessing the guy was either poor or he didn't take the job seriously and cheaped out.
>>
>>31112899
He quit like a month later, bought the thing second hand for like $100. It was so bad that every third round the magazine would fall out so he had to cup and saucer to shoot, it was pretty hilarious.

So yeah. He cheaped out bad.
>>
>>31111672
Just buy what all the other Puerto Ricans in your company buy and carry.

Ruger SR9, SR45s. Because thats all you're gonna see people with.

At my old job I had two guys with glocks, one guy with a walther P99, and like two guys with M&Ps. The rest of the guys, like 20 in total used Rugers.

I carried a GP100 with wood grips in a nice leather holster.

make sure it's light, if you're never going to use it you might as well be comfortable.

Glock, M&P, sig 320, XD, ect

youre looking for a duty gun, something that will sit in a holster and get worn in. If you want to be a special snowflake and carry something like pic related fine, but it WILL get scraped and dinged up so dont co crying when it does. Also you want something light since it'll be on your hip all day. Again, you could get something in aluminum or even steel but I wouldnt recommend it. Something light, simple, and get be abused without you caring
>source I did security for 2 years,
>started out with a beretta 92fs because it was my only handgun and hated it
>upgraded to an M&P 9mm and never looked back

>>31113647
Sounds like someone managed to break the mag release, he should have just sent the gun in for a free replacement.
>>
i carry a springfield xd9. its a great gun
