Just to clarify.. is you interpretation of "cool" useless tacticool crap with unnecessary weak points.
... or was the opening picture only intended to show that you lack pictures of swords you'd be able to split a cucumber with without having to worry about half of the blade snapping off?
rather enjoy my d'capitan
wish i could afford the new saber model they replaced this one with

People, if you're going to take the time to point out that a thread sucks then the least you could do is not bump the damn thing.

Got one of these at home. The handle is a little loose, but it's pretty neat otherwise.
in an effort to drag the thread up from the depths of 15-year-old mallninja's wet dreams of tacticool stainless wallhangars.

no, must most modern repros are made with grips too big.
real ones were small, so that your hand was a snug fit - meant more of it was covered by the hilt, and was more secure.
most 10-12th C sword grips are around 3 1/2 inches / 9cm. Most modern repros are closer to 4 inches, and many of the low-quality ones are closer to 4 1/2.

I feel like the manufacturer knew that mall ninjas would inevitably chop themselves with this chinkshit sword and decided to minimalize the damage it would do by covering half the blade with tacticool serrations. At least someone put thought into this disaster.
"Xiphos" - modern sword by Peter Johnsson.
Yup, that's sword porn.

that's cause many modern repros are made for full contact reenactors, using heavily padded gloves
can anyone tell me anything about this? inherited it from my grandfather but i don't know shit about it
I imagine extending a knife like this wouldn't actually produce a good sword.

It looks like an American infantry or artillery officer's sword, the eagle's head pommel placing it from the 1800's, but I'm no expert
>>31090231
I own one of those, more of a machete. Literally the flimsiest piece of metal I've ever seen
>>31091543
Well, it's definitely early American, but don't quite know enough about it to give you a real appreciation. A buddy of mine is an expert on this kinda stuff, I call him if you don't mind waiting around in the shop?
