Are stockless shotguns a meme?
If you have to ask...
i bought 2 at a gun auction almost a year ago because no one else wanted them. I have not shot either of them.
MEME confirmed

Just put a ergonomic pistol grip on a shotgun instead. Much less kick with all the benefits and fits of a pistol grip.

I have a Maverick like this but with a security barrel. I really love mine, a really light and short package that packs a punch. One of the things I like about the grip is that it feels extremely natural when running. A lot of fun, and I'd trust my ability with mine to protect me from a charging bear if need be.
Ultimately though, stocked shotguns are superior for sure.

Military uses them as breaching tools.

Lel, this guy sounds like a stereotypical TV gay man.
>>31087976
they're garbage. You're not Duke Nukem.

>Theoretical option for a sub-18 inch barrel without NFA
>Birdshead grips are comfy as fuck
>Shotguns wont make you any less dead because they had no stock
>implying you cant still aim them

kept one in my car when i was living in it just in case redguards. much easier to maneuver in a vehicle and point out a window.
Unless you're a breach and clear muhreen or using in a vehicle like >>31088825, than yes. For home defense, it's a meme

A true brother nord always keeps his wits about.
Why not just use underpowered loads or buy a 20ga if the recoil is too much for you?
>>31087976
for a meme it kills people pretty damn well.
If you are that ate up about it, grab a for grip and call it a night.
There's nothing wrong with them as close-quarters weapons where maneuvering a stocked shotgun would be tough.
In every other role a shotgun would be useful, they're inferior.
Buying it because it looks cool is a meme.
Less practical, more fun.

>clearly has never maneuvered ANY shotgun anywhere except muh duck huntn'
>makes bold blanket statements anyways
>>31089419
Yeah, that's bullshit, under what circumstances would maneuvering a shotgun with a stock be harder than a stockless? Think about it, you can just take the stock off your shoulder and hold it the same way you would the stockless.
Stockless is only good for having a compact option, without losing round capacity, for easy access. This is why militaries use it as a breaching tool.

I think pistol grip shotguns are kinda lame
>I still want to get a Maverick and put a birdshead grip on it.

Quick story
>Friends Dad gets in to guns after Katrina
>buys S&W snubbie, buys M&P, buys Mossberg 500
>500 comes with pistol grip and surefire light forend
>I see it and advise shoulder stock
>he takes it to range with his buddy
>buddy brings the bead to his eye (bird hunter)
>knocks out front teeth
After years of shouldering shotguns, I wouldn't trust myself to make the same mistake
>He doesnt CC pistol grip shotguns

My shotgun is 85% memes.
After I find a 12-18" sword bayonet and kit bash it with an m7 bayonet it will be at least 92% memes.
Any higher meme purity is dangerous and an accidental overdoes becomes increasingly likely.

I think 4chan ate my post.

Yeah i know

Army uses the M26 MASS as the breaching shotgun now. My experience: if used as standalone, then you should use the detachable stock. It's a viable anti-personnel weapon that way anyways.
You could also undersling a mag-fed, straight pull shotgun under your M4 if you're a complete fucking idiot.
