I've only been using breakfree CLP. Though now I have firearms where oil only isn't appropriate. So what common grease that is at a hardward/auto store is good?
>>31083511
That one is good.
High temperature red grease
Lubriplate 130-A
Superlube
White lithium grease
>>31083548
>White lithium grease
don't waste your money on that old crap.
molybdenum disulfide is the new kid in town.
>>31083511
Grease a shit
Stick with CLP
>>31083511
>he misunderstood the mobil 1 meme
motor oil lad, motor oil. synthetic 10W-30 is some of the best lube and cleaner ive used. certainly better than most purpose-made solvents that cost 4 times more for a tiny bottle.
if it keeps your engine clean it'll keep your gun cleaner, dont overthink it.

Garands call for grease.
lucas red n tacky 2 grease is pretty good too if you cant find mobil 1
>>31084297
I use lucas on my garand.
>>31083985
some firearms need grease and can't function off of oil only
my Garand needs grease or else it won't feed because of friction on the parts
>>31086183
Red n tacky a shit, oil seperates from the base.
MAG 1 720 is what you want. I've had the same tub since ive been 18 or so.
>>31083511
Aeroshell 64
>>31083511
liquid wrench lubricant and multipurpose cleaner
>>31083511
Don't be a kike, get Wilson gun grease + red oil
>>31084109
I'm a Mobil one guy too. I use 5w-30 synthetic though.
I use it for gun lube and case lube for reloading rifle cases. Keeping a batch of media for oil removal of you plan on just depriving and sizing is great. I wouldn't suggest it for case lube if you are going to case prep and load back to back.
The Mobil One red grease grease is great for my Garand. One can lasts forever.
>>31087965
Really? Had mine for a while now and given me no problems.
Milcom TW25B is fucking great. A little expensive but it is absolutely worth it. I use that on my Sig's internals and the rails. To my knowledge, they actually use it on apaches and shit but lucas oil white lithium grease is perfectly fine for your application and can be had for much cheaper
>>31083901
>>White lithium grease
>don't waste your money on that old crap.
>waste your money
it literally costs like $1.89 at walmart for a 10 ounce tube
>>31083511
Don't forget to change your oil or grease after firing for a while. The carbon and dirt picked up becomes an abrasive, even slightly so since the cyclic rate on gun parts is very slow compared to the internals of say a car engine.
Now you know why low speed diesel engines in the 650 rpm range run for 40 years between rebuilds like the Lister. You can't beat the real first inventors for making things work within the limits of the tech of that time very well.
Pictured, a view into a gearbox with oil and metal turned into a rotary sanding machine.
The harder and faster you push things non lubricated, the faster they fly apart.
Luckily guns are way down then in the rpm range, but have pressures on par with transmissions at the moment of movement.

After shooting how many rounds should one re oil and grease the rifle?
>>31084109
THIS
motor oil is a excellent cleaner, the detergents break down grime and fouling and don't allow them to stick, all my guns can be cleaned with a paper towel after shooting, zero scrubbing required.
>>31090288
200
grease is just better for lubrication period, unless there is a specific application or area of application where you can't get grease, use oil.
otherwise, the longer lasting, stays where its put, better barrier against wear, greases rein supreme.
>>31083511
>using grease on your firearms
>any fucking year ever
>>31090319
Mobil 1 is meant to grease not clean
>>31090325
Really? That seems pretty low. But better safe than sorry I guess.
>>31090332
M1 garand, as mentioned before, required grease. Can you not read?
>>31090354
the garand/m14 is also a unreliable shitty design, it's a piece of shit if it can't function without a specific type of lube.
>>31090357
pinko commie fascist detected
>>31090366
having to use reduced power 30-06 was a nice touch as well, otherwise it will beat itself to death.
probably the worst designed arm in the history of small arms, don't even want to know how many died due to failures of this design.
>>31090357
>garand
>same design as the shit pile M14
just stop
>>31090373
>I have no facts and must shit post
step aside for the king of lubes.
>>31083511
Lucas Oil Red 'n Tacky
>>31090332
>not using grease
enjoy your oil running away.
>>31090341
talking about motor oil
>>31084109
>>31089795
Its pretty well documented.
>>31090373
Kill yourself my man.
The reality is it doesn't fucking matter.
