If you really want an answer to your question you should tell us what rifle you plan on transporting anyway. You can fold some stocks, you can seperate some uppers and lowers.

Or buy a guitar case and make your own foam. Then sperg out when some QT 3.14 tries to spark a conversation with you about your guitar.

Or don't be a pussy and just carry your fucking gun like a normal person.

Get a soft guitar case with backpack straps. They're strong and intended to carry valuable instruments

Or you could just try using some normal travel luggage or a Pelican that would accommodate a split upper/lower.

Honestly though, as long as you don't dress like a sperg and carry yourself with confidence you shouldn't worry. You're not waving your gun around, you're not doing anything illegal. If someone tries to give you shit just handle it, I mean, you're in the right, so nothing to worry about.

AR-15 of any typical make will easily separate the upper and lower, then take out the mag, pull off the stock, then it should all fit in a guitar case.
