Yea here in Texas you can Legally own one at 18, but cannot buy "pistol ammunition" for it. You can transport it in you're vehicle loaded, but you cannot buy directly from someone who is FFL. But you can buy privately, or be gifted from a parent, same with the ammunition loophole I believe.
