Burta meet update.
Weather forecast doesn't look good day of the meet, so it may be weather dependant, if it happens to rain more than just scattered showers the meet will be postponed until the following weekend. Will post meteorological updates the day of meet, weather patterns are too random right now to accurately forcast if the weather will shift, doppler forcast doesnt look promising but well have to wait too see.
Also for those that are coming wed appreciate a ammo check as we got fugged on funding and have limited amount of ammo to share for the 20+ guns were bringing
>>
>>31072892
I'm bringing my .303, possibly, my new shotgun and my T97. I got an extra bill pop up, so I might just leave the Mohawk at home. And if anyone wants to shoot the 97, I'd prefer if you provide the ammo. Normally I wouldn't say that, but...y'know. Bills.

>>
>>31073275
You can get a Valmet hunter or M78 and convert it to look like a standard AK (Unconverted models start at around 4000 when you can find them).
But yes Vz58 is close enough for most people.
>>
>>31073168

Current configuration, can't decide whether I like the current folder or the collapsible AR stock more. The latter gives the rifle some heft and makes it feel more ridged/solid and super comfortable to hold, while the folding stock is great for innawoods shooting and quick aiming. Then again I suppose it's not difficult to switch out these stocks on a whim.
>>
What's with everyone using HL Impact Sport instead of Pro for ear protection? Pro has higher NRR and the bigger profile doesn't get in the way.
Do people think hearing is a meme or something?
>>
>>31073356
I just checked both and I can't seem to find any other than the Restricted carbine length version.
>>
>>31073402
Basically it comes down to price. Impact Pro is $112 while the Sport model is usually around the $60 mark. The latter works well enough and if you really want that extra reduction in dB's most people just double up with some earplugs.

anyone bought anything from corwin arms before? i'm eyeing their shotguns but i wanted to see if anyone has had pleasant business experiences with them
>>
>>31073528
I got passive ear protection rated at 30db NRR and I still double up. Looking to get electronic ones soon and surprised how common the sport version is given its 22 NRR where as pro has 30 NRR. I get that it's almost double the price but come, cut back on the ammo and protect your ears.

Maybe I'm just a little sensitive cause last time I was at a gun show, I saw a lot of hearing aids. Take care of yourself bros!
>>
>>31073573
Which shotgun?
As a company they are great but the shotguns they have made are pretty lowest bidder turkish. They work but some models need TLC to work well.
>>
>>31073573
It took them three months to ship a muzzle brake, had to routinely hound them with emails until it showed up at my front door. From the sounds of it I'm the only one who's had this bad of an experience with them though.
>>
>>31073528
Thanks man, Hopefully my PAL comes in while it's still available.

>>

I hope you're just being a meme, if not that is some seriously cringey shit
>>
>>31073798
Most stores will put firearms on hold if you're just waiting for your PAL to come in the mail, so if you're set on purchasing it I'd contact them and explain your situation. It's what I did for my first purchase, and I'm glad I went that route.

Any of you guys have good or horrible experiences buying on the CGN EE? Seems like there's some good deals on there. Is it a hassle getting a restricted from a private sale, especially if it's my first so I dont have an ATT yet?
>>
>>31073573
I've bought a bunch of stuff from them from accessories to firearms. They're generally really great, although some items won't have tracking numbers and I've had to return an item once, with no trouble.

Also, sauce?
>>
>>31074703

It's quite easy actually. Bought two pistols on there and just sold one.
1. PM seller
2. Send email for pictures
3. Send EMT
4. Seller calls CFO to start transfer
5. You call CFO to complete transfer
6. Seller receives transfer confirmation
7. Seller ships gun

That's it. Make sure you ask for pictures with the sellers username to prove it's his.
>>
>>31074703
It's your first ever restricted purchase?

In that case, if you live outside of Ontario, sign up for a membership to a recognized gun club (ask them if the membership helps you with restricted purchases), and submit the documents to the CFO.
>>
>>31074746
>>31074811

Thanks anons. I'm in BC and I have a Silvercore membership for this reason. I even checked with a local gun store if this "paper range" is good enough and he said "yeah unfortunately, it is" with disgust. So I'm good.

There's an M&P for 599, brand new, seller has good feedback. Thoughts?
>>
So let's say, hypothetically, a Non-restricted firearm is stolen from my trunk. I obviously should report it but what if I don't?

I would say they are both pretty equal, with the type 81 a little more AK. The vz58 will cost more however but it can be bought in .223 and will accept lar-15 and .50 beowulf mags. Plus you can use it for varmint hunting plus deer which is essentially carrying a gun in the woods with a 14 round mag all year round. Plus the aftermarket parts, which is a lot, can make the vz58 look bretty koo. The type 81 has almost zero aftermarket.

You want a AK?

Vz58 = 7.62x39 or .223 (.223 in this case as I FUCKING SPECIFIED YOU NIGGER)

Also 51????? like the military base or something
>>
>>31076419
Both the T81 and VZ58 are short stroke piston guns and are both about the same distance from the AK as the SKS is. At this point, it's more about appearance and speculation.
>>
What's a fun .22?
>>
>>31076503

Yeah it mostly looks, I do however like the size comparison of the ejection port on the vz58. Plus the type 81 hasn't even arrived yet, so it mostly speculation that it will be as reliable as the vz58.
>>
>>31076576

Anyone here have any experience with the Benelli MR1? How accurate is it? I don't see it get mentioned a lot on here, that's a bad sign. You'd expect a semi-auto .223 that takes STANAGs to get a lot more attention. Is there something wrong with it?

>>
>>31076973
I have one.
>accuracy

The barrel is pretty thin, so your groups will open up fairly quickly. It's not super-accurate, but the tradeoff is that it eats pretty much any ammo you feed it. It's reliable for FMJs, soft points, HP, round points, etc.

>Is there something wrong with it?

It costs too much, especially nowadays.

Other than that, it is reliable and comfortable. Cleaning is a hassle. Unlike a DI gun that shits where it eats, the MR1 shits absolutely everywhere. On the other hand, it works well when dirty.
>>
>>31077027
>The barrel is pretty thin, so your groups will open up fairly quickly.
Like, 4-5 moa? Would it work with steel case?
>>
>>31077053
I'm not exactly stellar for accuracy, so I'll go with other reports. It looks to be a 2 MOA or so gun.

It will work with steel case.
>>
>>31077018
The x39 are usually the most expensive, with even the most beaten one going for $4k+. The .308 is the cheapest from what little I've seen, with beaten ones going for $3k+. The 5.56 model is in the middle. You'd honestly be much better off importing from a private seller in the USA, even with the exchange rate and import fees.
>>
>>31077179
Lucky you. As it stands, I think you'd be better off buying a Classic Green; they both cost a fortune, the CG is more accurate.
>>
>>31077208
>The x39 are usually the most expensive, with even the most beaten one going for $4k+. The .308 is the cheapest from what little I've seen, with beaten ones going for $3k+. The 5.56 model is in the middle.

See, at this point you're basically paying for the bragging rights to say you own an AK in Canada.
>>
>>31077323
Pretty much. It's all about being able to say "I fought the law and I won" without actually having to work hard. Still though, it's funny to point out that there are actually legal to own AK regulated like double barrel shotguns in the country to idiots and watch them squirm.

What's the deal on air rifles that don't require a PAL? I don't wanna bother getting one because I'm not gonna hunt anyway and have no felt HD needs, but shooting is still fun, so I want some Canadian Tire Special air rifle when I next get paid. So I'm in the middle of deciding what my second gun will be, but I know it will be an overpriced range toy to scare liberals with.

Still deciding between a Darya mk 10 (semi auto 12 gauge), the cheaper of the two but seemingly sold out everywhere. Seems good for bear defense if I ever go innawoods. Or a Tavor, which costs many shekels but will let me use that mag cap loophole, and would be the bane of coyotes on my parents acreage.

Hey, I have been off the rader for a month or two.

Just read the new magazine directive in the pastebin.

Am I correct when I say it can it be summarized as

"Magazines that fit multiple weapons must meet the most stringent requirement of either of the two weapons. That is to say, if it is a 20 round magazine in a rifle but also fit a pistol (limited to 10 rounds) it must be pinned to meet the 10 rounds, as it is the more severe requirement."

Sorry for the late response anon.

>how do you like the folding stock + slant brake combo?
It works, I don't experience any cheek slap or whatever and the slant brake offers a slight reduction in muzzle rise compared to the standard thread protector. However I'm thinking about trying one of those new AK74 style brakes Corwin brought in. Pic related is what I want to try next.

>what is that thing finagled onto the back of the stock?
A 'UTG AK47 Combat But Pad' from Amazon.ca. Fits snugly on the VZ folding stocks, bought it mostly to increase the length of pull.

>what did you use by way of screwdriver for the jumbo-screw that attaches the folding stock?
The folding stock came with a standard flat-head screw, but I just use the one that came attached to my rifle, turned with a 6mm allen key as I recall.

>how do you like those plastic mags?
I like them. They feel super nice when locking them in, only issue I've noticed is that stripper clips don't really like to 'grip' the polymer mags. It's still doable, just a little more finicky than the standard aluminum magazines.

I'm sorry, this might be a bit long-winded and off topic:

let's say some Canadian business would start making novelty hard candy in the precise dimensions of 9mm, .45, 5.56, 7.62x39, .308 and other popular calibers. then they would make clear-plastic novelty candy dispensers that would use a simple spring-loaded mechanism that would wind up with the pull of the slide/charging handle and release with a trigger, to smack the candy and make it fall out through the "barrel".
>let's call these dispensers cool names like G-Luck, Teen11, Aroma Lite, EZ-Veezy and M.I.A.
obviously there would be no separation of the "bullet" and "casing" part, since it's just one whole candy, there would be no chamber or anything like that. so the candy would need some kind of a mechanism to go from dispenser and into getting smacked out of the "barrel"

now, of course that company would have to start making a storage box for that candy, an absolutely vital to the dispenser's function part, which would be made of polymer, spring-loaded itself and would hold say 17 "Nein Mill" candies, or 30 "556-Neato" candies and would be inserted into the dispenser and allow the mechanism inside it discussed above to strip each individual candy on the forward motion and thus fling it out of the "barrel"
.
.
.
how could it be illegal for said novelty candy company to sell the obviously harmless candy, the obviously harmless dispenser or for that candy to come in the harmless candy storage boxes, vital to the function of the dispenser and to the novelty selling factor of the gimmick???

likewise, how could it be illegal for people to use their empty candy storage boxes however they please, especially if said boxes were clearly marked "Candy Storage Box, Capacity: 30pcs of 556-Neato Candy"???

Nice to know we can't defend ourselves in this country.

CBC is making it out like it was some sort of KKK lynching when he probably was trying to steal from the farmer, and when caught, got confrontational about muh stolen land mufugga

I hope the farmer gets acquitted so we have a precedent for home defense.
>>
>>31085746
Unless you plan on stuffing it with sand & rice, or drilling holes in it & attaching a fan that's constantly blowing, there's practically no such thing as a rifle case that mitigates rust.

There haven't been enough details released to make a judgement one way or another. If they were actually a threat to the farmer and the shooting was justified, hopefully it sets good precedent for self defense going forward. If it turns out they weren't posing a threat and the guy got trigger happy, then it's a pretty bad knock against the firearms community and self defence advocates.

seriously though i'm falling for this meme. I'm waiting on getting a 9MM pistol and a target shooting rifle but I think I'll get an SKS too, the commie aesthetics are growing on me. If I go up to Cabela's I can get one in person but they're laminate. I can order a wood one from Wolverine for like $25 cheaper.

What kind of 9mm are you looking at? I suddenly want an SKS to round out my poorfag post WWII-era slav collection, and also to actually have a semiautomatic rifle. A 91/30, a nugget carbine, and a Makarov are what I currently have.

I went and fingerfucked a P226, CZ SP01, and a Glock 17. I'd like to check out a Beretta as well but I liked the feel of the CZ, heavy as shit. Sig felt good in the hand too. I'm pretty open at this point. Trying to make friends with my CFSC instructor and he's got a line on some stuff he thinks would be a good fit for me, probably won't see him until next week though.

I'd also like to get a bolt action .22 or something just to get into hitting targets for cheap.

I'm of the same opinion really. Of the Sigs I shot a P320, that gun would be perfect for OC innawoods. It fits my hands like it was made for me. 92s and Glock 17s are nice, and I especially like the 92s trigger, but the P320 is just right.

>I'd also like to get a bolt action .22 or something just to get into hitting targets for cheap.
I used to do a lot of tin can marksmanship myself until .22 became unicorn shit rare. Nothing like plinking off the back porch with a .22 bolt action.

.22 is still common, it's just gone up in price compared to a few years ago. Everyone complaining about it falls under the category either "cheap" or "unable to understand that prices tend to go up in the firearms industry over time".

.22 is not really as rare as it was a few years ago, and I've been buying CCI for 12c per round.

Carving guy here, if your carving something into your gun it should carrying a meaning or be symbolic to you, i have "in the name of peace, for our freedom" carved on the butt and side of the stock and the orthodox cross with "in hoc signo vinces, or In this sign though shall conquer" carved in it so when i die my rifle may be laid to rest with me, so i can conquer hell. If i can conquer my own personal hell i can conquer anything.

It's a Tok, not much you can screw up. If you live in or around Edmonton, Sebarms sells boxes of surplus x25 for $11 for 70rds. Corrosive, but cheap. All I can say is watch when disassembling it you don't rotate the barrel bushing and allow the spring to rocket into your face. But otherwise, it's a great starter pistol. Very simple, reliable and fun. Mine is a '42.
>>31089402
527, actually. Damn.
>>
>>31089427
Svt recoil spring nearly took my eye out before, same with a tokarev
>>
>>31089442
Still, I refer to them as the "SKS of pistols". Reliable, cheap, and fun. And just complex enough to teach a new gun owner about the complexities of disassembling a gun, though thanks to things like that fancy little FCG, no real tiny pins and parts to lose.
>>
