What does /k/ think of tactical pens?

Needs a vertical grip and flashlight, minimum
Clunky and unwieldy as an actual pen, only marginally more useful as an improvised weapon than a regular metal body pen or pocket flashlight, prohibited by many security checkpoints, and absolute lawsuit bait if you ever do use it for self defense.
Don't waste the money.

you should probably just be carrying a knife or multitool with knife rather than a uncomfortably heavy pen

My father in law got me one as a gift.
I really like it, and have been carrying it in my shirt pocket for years.
It's a bit larger than the average pen, but nothing crazy.
The cap is flat and screws on/off. The other end is pointed, but not sharp. It's quite solid, and I think it would be decent as an impact weapon.
Mostly just gets used as a pen, but once in a while, I've used it as a tool with good success.
I dunno, I've liked it.

I would, but my state (Michigan) classifies self-defense with a knife as "intent to harm" or "premeditated" or some bullshit like that (it's got pretty muddy knife laws in general), and I'm still too young to buy a handgun.

I guess you better do what you need to do then.
IDK what, but I'd still guess there's something better out there than a pokey pen.
>>31070051
If you buy one, you're a fucking retard with zero taste
>>31070531
There are definitely better options than a tactical pen.
>>31070586
Never said I was gonna buy one.
>>31070596
What are the better options that aren't knife, cc gun or pepper spray?
>>31071755
I would think something like a collapsible baton, although I wouldn't be surprised if that was illegal as well.

>Cool as a novelty.
>Bulky and inconvenient as an actual pen.
>Shitty as an actual weapon.
>>31070051
Its alright for when i feel uncomfortable in airports.
