the other day I made a thread about a used 92FS for sale at my gun store

I was quoted $430 for the gun and a magazine but when I went back the next day and purchased the gun (and a box of cheap 9mm) they found a spare magazine and an empty beretta box for the gun so my total was like $445 for the gun and all the other stuff.

I think I did pretty good

It's fine. The problem is the gun it is copying is not that good. Most have good experiences but some have had poor accuracy from their examples. The px4 is really the evolution and perfection of the rolling barrel action.

The only thing i dont like about the brigadier is the small and rounded trigger guard. I've shot the Wilson combat one a ton, What an excellent firearm. If anyone had the money and only wanted one 9mm Beretta I would highly recommend.

Why do companies release "carry" versions of their guns with shortened slides? A good carry gun is all about a concealable (shorter) grip. The only time I've ever had barrel length come into play when concealing a gun was when I tried appendix carrying a pistol with a 5 inch barrel.

That's not the point with the PX4 Compact Carry. It's the same size as the Compact model but it has a bunch of different modifications like low profile controls, tritium sights, talon grip tapes and enhanced springs.

I feel bad for whoever sold it to the store, because if I paid $450 total (tax/bgc) the guy that sold it probably got no more than $300 from it, if that.
And there's no wear on it, the finish is plain like that, it's not a stainless/high polish mirror finish like a chrome.

92sb compact I bought for 400. Took the whole slide apart and did a deep clean and now just functions perfect.

Now time to get wood grips and a 30rd mag.

Armsunlimited is pushing a NIB 92FS with three mags for $500 (no ship, no tax) the m9a1 is like $50~ more to boot. I snagged one of the nonrailed ones cause didnt have one. Fucking love it now. I've seen countless folks trying to offload their PX4s for around $400. It's not a bad price, but it ain't awful. Took me awhile to off load my PX4.

Zero law enforcement experience here. Gonna guess they are contract over runs cause i bought one and had it shipped to my ffl. Doesn't have night sights or the older "PS" maeking on the slide. Just came with three mags and a plastic case like a commercial model

Jeweler's rouge, and elbow grease. Felt cloth wheel on a dremel for the tight spots.
Electropolish with the guns as the anode, then clean the holy crap out of it with NaOH and plate it. Or at least get the prep work and cleaning done, which is 90% of the labor, and have a shop plate it.

Polish it to your liking, just don't take some parts down past their tolerances where it's needed. Don't plate it too thick to make things jam or scrape off the finish from friction during operation. Nickel takes 1700 F and live steam to oxidize it.

How many guns of one caliber is too many?

When i started collecting weapons i decided that I wanted to get one of each caliber to start with, and then start getting duplicates if desired.

But today I already have two 9mms (USP, P320) and right now I have a real big fukkin boner for a beretta 92.

I also want a cheetah and a cougar.

Basically i want a bunch of berettas but i feel like if i have so many 9mm pistols i'll neglect some of them just because i don't have the time or ammo reserves to shoot them all regularly and with sufficient duration.

What do?

Just to clarify, i like the stock sights on the Neos better than the ruger 22/45.

I feel like i can get a much finer look at long range, or tiny, targets with the Neos sights.

When i'm shooting pic related with my ruger, anything beyond 10 yards and the last 4 or 5 bullseyes start to get lost behind my sights. With the Neos, i don't get this issue until around 15 yards or more.

Never shot one so can't say. Own a Mk III Target that is a ridiculous amount of fun and completely stock. In time will add some volquartsen parts and maybe a small red dot or scope. The all steel design makes it very soft to shoot and couldn't reccomend it more.

Each person has their own preferences for 22 pistols. Cant hurt to rent a few to see which one you fall in love with
