How do I keep my head straight, when SHTF?

Try not to get it shot off in the first place.
Run to a safe place and hide as you gather yourself and accept that youre gonne die in the first month. Then try to survive.

Wait. Shouldn't it be easier then? Less drama, cut and dried (literally)

Congratulations, so does everyone else.

not in canada

Then you've got an advantage. That doesn't mean you can just sit on your fat ass and not do anything just because you have a gun. Store supplies and learn survival skills on the internet. Then practice them. That will give you confidence to not break down like a pussy on the first day.
Masturbation when it's safe to do so

im not the guy you were initially responding to, but i suppose that's ok advice. not a very motivating tone though.
but if shtf i think ive got it sewn up. possibly better than yourself.
>be me
>shtf
>collect doggo, funs, ammo, etc
>go to buttonville airport
>try not to get btfo on the way there
>fly out to my remote cabin in northern ontario
>chill out until doomsday
>>31057411
Yeah assuming the airport is still functioning that's the best plan you can have if the cabin is pre-supplied

The thing about a SHTF Canada is I imagine if you just go into the interior of any given province you'll be fine. I just spent about two weeks camping in Enderby, BC, and every time I go it shocks me how much the local culture mimics the kind of "Get along now" idealized southern US kind of thing.
If you're on the west coast, just keep off the bordering land of any given rez (harder than you think) and try and latch on to a group of roof koreans, which will make up about 70% of the population passing into the second month. For the East, I really have no idea of the compositon or culture, but I imagine it's a kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of thing considering how much of an inhospitable nightmare everything past the rockies turns into during the Summer and Winter.

Why's that?

>west coast best coast
southwest bc is a rainy cesspool. calgary is the only decent place to live west of thunder bay.
>>31057487
On rez, it's always SHTF

Are you talking about the West coast of the US or Canada?

Prepare for the worst possible outcome, but stay positive. Everything is temporary.

I'm from a small town in the fraser valley, which is the southwest part of British Columbia. Native Reservations (referred to as "rez") typically lack in proper access to clean food, water, healthcare, education, or deterrent to crime. As such, you end up with huge families of natives (10 kids leading to 10 kids and so on) forming these little shithole city states keen on murdering any non-native that entered the rez.
The lack of development means most of this goes unreported for the most part, and people just stay away. Any valuable land was sold out ages ago, and now they're just small patches off land with only one unlabeled highway exit people know to avoid.
All things considered, if you really want to experience SHTF, go into a particularly bad rez and camp on the streets for a few days, you'll feel it.

The rez sounds exactly like North Korea

ive driven few a thru reserves up where i hunt deer in ft frances
i once saw a guy sleeping on the shoulder of the hwy in november (and this is pretty north too) - passed out drunk. some of those natives are crazy

If SHTF globally, I am going to spend every waking day with a handgun on my temple and deal with it.
