is anyone here a fan of the cz97? I'm in the market for a full size steel frame as a possible suppressor host/nightstand gun.

I hear the mags don't feed hollow points too well and I can't find anyone selling a threaded barrel for it- am I shit out of luck here?
>>
Bought an SP-01 over the weekend. Loving it so far, but had a fail to feed 5 shots in to first mag. Normal blazer 124gr. I should not expect this to happen very often, if at all, correct?
>>
Alright motherfuckers, wisdom time.

>>31033205
I too had this problem, use needle nose pliers and a thinner pin or toothpick to get in place, then hold it down and drive the full sized pin.

>>31033407
Try out Thai Best Shop on Ebay, slow shipping but outstanding product

>>31033679
That is not normal, if possible send it in to CZ, if not fun a few mags of ammo it likes to break it in, make sure you stripped factory grease and used lube, and maybe polish the feed ramp lightly.

>>31032632
To everyone interested in a CZ75 but not MSRP interested

You have three great options for cheap CZ profile guns
>Online purchase one of the flood of Pre-B and transitional CZ75's before they dry up.
I shoot my buddies at 100+yds and it runs great.
>Be aware of magazine compatibility issues

>Buy a Tanfoglio polymer Witness
They are very good guns in the $300- $360 range, they come in full size and compact and run after market magazines very well

>Hunt down a Turkish Canik Tri-Star L120
These are fantastic aluminum frame CZ75b clones that run great and have a whole section of parts from Cajun Gunworks, this is mine I got for $275

Bonus shit
>Cabelas Slide Lube jars are cheap and good alternatives to Frog Lube or lithium grease. It even smells like mint abd can be rubbed into boresnakes at the front
>Bladetech makes a really good competition holster for the CZ, but you can buy just the belt clip and drop and mold your own from Kydex or Bolteron for $25

ADDITIONAL WISDOM

>New shooters, dry fire, I know everyone says it and you think you do it enough, but you have no idea.
Tape up a target, dry fire 50-100 times in single action perfect form 3-5 times a week, like meditation. This will establish an insulated synaptic path that helps fight flinching.

>Have a plan for every round every trip
Don't make it less fun, but know what you're doing with your ammo (Bring 200 rounds, 50 first shot from draw repetitions, 75 rounds for Mozambique drills, etc...)

>Practice point shooting!!!
For the love of fuck learn this, nake sure your gun fits uour hand and points well, you get spooked and need to shoot fast and sights will vanish.

>Learn to shoot fast with sight picture
Point shooting is necessary for close fast defensive shooting, but learning to aquire a sight picture on the run is a necessity if you want to compete, combining both makes you capable from 3' to 50yds at the drop of a hat, and practising silhouette or bullseye can make you capable to 150yds with a duty pistol for hunting or one in a trillion cactive shooter or simmilar situations

And lastly
>REMEMBER THAT CZ MAKES RIFLES TOO!
This baby shot a 0.77moa 5 shot group at 100yds with CCI minimags, not bad for $500- $550

Does everyone just run factory sights? I got a 75B Israeli surplus from buds, but the sights are beat up and I want new ones. I figured I could upgrade a little, but don't want a three dot setup. It is slim pickings for CZ sights compared to 1911s and glocks.

cleaned my cz last night.

Couldn't get all the factory grease off w/ alcohol but I made some progress. cleaned the barrel w/ ballistol and lubed the slide and locking lugs w/ hoppe's gun oil.

Felt smooth as silk last night. This morning it's giving me a lot more resistance and feels tougher to pull i certain areas as I rack it.

Posting my Hulk SP-01. Also anyone that gets an EVO I highly recommend the 5lb trigger spring out there as well as the AK safety. They make it much more enjoyable to shoot. Also CZ needs to hurry up their production of the 2016 P-01s and the 922r kit. my stamp is only 2 months away.

For one's first handgun which of the three would be the better option?

Keeping mind this will be solely a range gun.(Canadian here)

CZ 75 SP01 Tactical
>Expensive as fuck MSRP in the range of $1100
>No form of CCW up here so I'm guessing the weight and no mechanical safety would be a non factor.

CZ P-09 Duty
>MSRP around $800
>Polymer guessing it feels Glock in hand? Not too big on that nothing at all there feeling myself.
>Outdoor winter shooting should be more easier on naked hands plus larger trigger guard when using gloves.

Jericho 941
>MSRP $700 with 3 mags, a holster and a double mag pouch.
>Hear for a clone it is just about as good of a CZ 75 you can get.
>Slide mounted safety which hear I isn't all that great and can be downright ass.

Mind you I have not handled any of these in person and would plan to before making a purchase.
>>
>>31036560
Jericho 941's and Baby Eagles are available with frame safeties. MSRP for a Jericho 941 F is $650.

http://iwi.us/Jericho/Jericho-F-Full-Size-Steel.aspx

I own the above IMI example with the slide safety. A lot of people complain about them, but I don't think it's that bad. Having the safety right there actually makes me feel like I have a better purchase on the slide, and I haven't accidentally engaged it while racking the slide.

I've shot a P09, it was fine, fit my hand well and had a nice enough trigger.
>>
>>31036560
>>31036688
Shit, sorry, didn't notice you're Canadian. I guess US MSRP doesn't really apply.
>>
>>31033615
Is that a 75b with wood grips?
>>
>>31036696

no worries that be cool the Jericho is still the cheaper more value option out of the 3.

Unsure if the frame mount safety version made the hop up north yet though might still be in the federal backlog hell of RCMP firearm classification.
>>
>>31036715
It's the original tool steel short-rail CZ75 with wood grips. Words cannot express my jelly.
>>
>>31036922
Ugh, that'd be a shame. I think they've done Jericho 941F's for a while though. I'm pretty sure I've seen pre-rail examples. I haven't shot my 941R yet, just picked it up Tuesday, bit I'm pretty impressed with the fit and finish, smooth DA trigger, and crisp SA trigger. It's the best trigger I've felt on a DA/SA pistol so far.

>>31038426
At relatively short distances it doesn't matter that much.

>Sinking $400 into a 22 pistol
>Paying 10+ cents/rd for ammo

Just buy a real gun and learn with it. 9mm isn't hard to handle and then you won't have to spend another $400+ to get a gun you can use to protect yourself with.
>>
>>31038425
Don't believe everything you hear?

Mine stay on fine and have for the half year and dozen plus range trips and a few campouts I've been on.

Maybe they'll wear out some day, but IDGAF

Only problem I have is the left side grip screw has the frame side threads mangled at the very very bottom, so I can't tighten the last like . . . 1/8th turn. But the grip panel stays on fine. I can loosen it if I go at it with a screw driver, but that's not a concern since it's a safe queen anyway.
>>
>>31038472
some of us are capable of hitting targets beyond 5m away

10c/rd v 33c/rd. i'll stick with .22.

>protect yourself
can't do that here anyway
>>
>>31038498
>33c/rd.
9mm is 20 here. Fundamentals don't change as distance increases and your 22 will have different handling characteristics than a proper handgun, so there will always be adjustments and learning required.

We aren't cucked here, but I agree that the 22 is a great choice if you are never going to even consider using your weapon to defend yourself or if you have an extra $500 burning a hole in your pocket.
>>
>>31038397

>>
>>31038606
>How're the wood grips treating you?
def improvement in grip and handling and recoil control over the stock plastic grips that were basically jew palm buffed smooth.

let one's kinda a bit loose as I mentioned here >>31038477

maybe after a while they'll break down, but I don't really care.
I imagine you'd get a fair range of variance since it's wood which will warp or bend, and the design of the pistol having only a single attachment screw isn't going to be able to compensate for warped or flawed grips.

but yeah I have no complaints.

Now if I could just figure out how to get the pistol to stop ejecting the firing pin stop plate at random while shooting, that would be great.
>>
>>31039390
>Now if I could just figure out how to get the pistol to stop ejecting the firing pin stop plate at random while shooting, that would be great.

Fug. I didn't know that was a thing.
>>
>>31039545
I can't find anything online about it and I've already had a complete spring replacement so I know the firing pin spring is legit.

I've ordered a replacement part and it's wobbly loose in the slot. I think the new jericho's might have a smaller slot in the frame for the stop plate or something. It's only retained by spring pressure from the firing pin/spring, so it's like it's falling out before the pin can return to it's place and secure the plate before the slide recoils back enough to where the frame no longer holds it in place. Or something, I'm not a gunsmith

I don't know.
I mean it works for like 5-10 rounds at a time. Then you just check the floor for the plate and put it back for another 5 - 10 rounds.
>>

Reposting from another thread, but this happened to me recently:

>went to my lgs to look at a CZ-75b fullsize
>think that since it's a DA/SA, the trigger is going to break like glass, and feel much better than my Glock's stock trigger
>cycle it, squeeze trigger
>the goddamn trigger pull is even longer than my G17
>squishy as fuck
>it's like it has all the worst traits of a DA/SA and a Glock trigger

Did I just happen to handle a shitty CZ? The gun itself felt excellent in my hands, and was phenomenally easy to snap up and line up the sights, but my god that trigger felt more squishy and less predictable than my PTR-91.
>>
>>31046927
Because its a 75B. Get a Pre-B.
>>
>>31046927
Other guy is wrong. You don't have to get a fucking 20 year old gun to get a nice trigger. CZ even makes multiple guns without a firing pin block today, and it's known that removing the block alone doesn't make the trigger god-tier.

Anyway, CZ triggers are pretty ass out of the box. If you want it to be awesome, you can either put a thousand or so rounds through it and let it smooth itself out, or you can do that manually by polishing the internals. I've opted for the former on my current gun, and it feels much better now than it did when it was stock. You can also buy aftermarket parts to replace some of the springs inside and help with the DA trigger pull as well as the reset. That's fairly cheap. If you want a god-tier trigger and don't mind spending quite a bit, you can get a new trigger and/or a new hammer and swap those in. That'll be a huge improvement. But it's not required, just smoothing out the trigger that's in it is a big help.

None of this changes the fact that the DA trigger pull is long tho. Not sure you can do anything about that.
>>
>>31042310
Nice man. Real recognize real.
