So I just bought one of these.
What items do I put in which pouches?
What general goes in the ones on the back?
Jellybeans. Fill all pouches with jellybeans.

They were designed for long range patrols in africa so lots of water.
Side square pouches are canteens
Rear back thing is for a hydration bladder
There us a buttpack that is not included in most rigs, that is what generally holds your mess and snacks.
Mags/Grenades go everywhere else

A waistpack? No kidding.
You happen to know how I could find one?
>>31018653
The large square pouches are designed to fit these SADF canteens specefically

If you plan on using them purchase 2 and use both, water is heavy and having the asymmetrical load can throw off the fit

Do they actually have a buttpack designed for the rig? I tried google with no results.

They were basically bed rolls with straps. It was also common to pair them with the smaller packs that were issued as part of your pat 70 kit. Basically with pat 83 you had chest rig + rucksack or jacket + bedroll so troops augmented the bedroll setup with pat 70 kit since the ruck was smaller
Excuse the shit tier photo its the best I could find.
>>31018653
How do you do these rolls on the straps?
>>31018747
The only correct response.
when you get it, be sure to post pics wearing the vest but no other clothes
Are these to be worn in conjunction with the sadf chest rig?

No.

Hey guys. How come I can't easily fit my 7.62x51 pmags into the pockets?
Isn't this battle jacket designed around the fn fal?

Was more for the R-series/Galil type, as is the M83 chest rig, But the pouch sizes are generally catch-all.
The Pattern 70 is FN specifc.
