No because at point blank range like that, it will probably cause more tissue damage than just the 5.6mm hole it would rip. You would probably lose the whole lower piece you were trying to pierce.

Also you will lose your hearing in that ear, and wearing an earplug will not help.

Actually if you wanted to pierce your ear with a gun then a BB Pistol would probably be the ticket. Im not condoning this but... a CO2 powered one easily has enough velocity to penetrate the skin and it leaves a smaller hole, while not having as much firepower as the 22. And you just might not go deaf if you were wearing an earplug.

Some douchebag shot me with a BB pistol while he was driving by on the highway and I still have the BB in me so, I know if itll do that itll pierce your ear at the muzzle no problem.
