Neat. The dust cover did its job, which is more than I expected.
Did any other nations issue stuff like that for their rifles?
Arisaka has been looking like an appealing rifle to buy, very cheap for even a good example and I've been seeing the ammo more and more. I've even seen a few with the intact Chrysanthemum and with the covers.

You could still operate the rifle for the 2nd shot, it just required more blunt force on the bolt. While not ideal it isn't a complete failure.

No, failing miserably was the Mosin, where they needed to pour tons of water to get anything more than one shot. Here on the first test Ian was able to get the gun running again without external aid. It remains to be seen if any other bolt actions they plan to test (a Lee and a Mauser) can perform cleanly.

Really what this testing has proven once and for is the TOTAL SUPERIORITY of the lever action over the bolt action.
